I’m not going to lie, bringing you this week’s edition of COED’s drinks of the week wasn’t easy! Put yourself in our shoes for a moment and just think about it. How would you like it if you had to taste test a premium american vodka, a quadruple distilled London dry gin, and then an 8 year aged bourbon whiskey? As the season goes on, the games start to get better. Over the last week of college football there were teams that stepped up, some that stepped back, others that kicked butt, and other that got there butt kicked. If you’re wondering what happened to the supposed best in the nation read on.

This weekend features a number of top 25 match-ups around the nation. When all is said and done, there will be some seriously disappointed fans as their dreams of a national championship blow away like Dust in the Wind – CUE WILL FERRELL!

Of the 18 times Arkansas and Alabama have faced off, the Tide won 10. The last bout was hardly a contest with the Crimson Tide rolling over the Razorbacks 35-7. Things are different this year, though. This time both teams rock.

They make us laugh. They make us want to cry. Often we just want to make them get out of our way. They are intended to rally the fans and strike fear into the hearts of our opponents. However, there are some so lame you wonder what bet the school’s founder lost to saddle his team with such a horrendous moniker (or why no one has changed it yet). Sometimes you don’t really need to have a good reason to hate someone for any reason other than where they are from. Before you go crazy on me, I am not talking about racial profiling; I’m talking about college football rivalries. Every team starts the season with aspirations of division, conference, and/or even national title hopes in mind. Of course most teams can’t live up to those dreams. But there is a something that any team would gladly have as the consolation prize to a championship — beating their hated rival. Here are the biggest rivals in the history of college football.

Mascots are supposed to represent your school, be an emblem of strength for your team, and to cause your opponent to piss their pants from fear. A good mascot will psych out the enemy with dead plastic eyes and murderous grins….these are not those.

Thanksgiving is a thing of the past and now COED has refocused its mind on the lovely cheerleaders of those top ten teams heading into Championship Week 2009. With six unbeaten teams entering the final week of the season, plenty of BCS bids are up for grabs. Strap on your gear for the final week of the season.

The college football season is nearing its end. Conference titles are being handed out, bowl game combatants are becoming clear, and emo Senior cheerleaders are beginning to go ‘all out’ five to six nights a week. This week features The Game as an underachieving Michigan hosts Ohio State. Get out your beads and pocket your favorite pint as its getting cold in the stadiums across the nation on gameday.

With fall in full swing and six teams still undefeated, we are heading into the last leg of the season. This week features mighty battles in the Mountain West, Pac-10 and Big Ten – and yes, I included the MWC, which could surprise some people and find themselves in the national title game conversation (in the event of a miracle). This is the week in college football where the cheerleaders are not the only ones scantily dressed and ready for a good time. Halloween falls on a Saturday night this year, which means raucous costume parties starting at Thirsty Thursday and lasting all the way through gameday. If your team takes home a victory, expect those costumes to be reduced to mere threads covering up our favorite spots.
