The A-Team releases on DVD and Blu-ray today. Unfortunately, it underwhelmed at the box office and failed to meet expectations for most fans. It’s another example of a Hollywood remake of a classic TV show that gets everyone super amped only to be disappointed with the end result. Why? Because for some odd reason studios seem to think they have to give the old formula a new twist. Too often it just doesn’t work. However, there’s one twist that would most definitely rock: AN ALL-FEMALE A-TEAM!

After the early success of The Expendables, it’s only natural that word of a sequel is already out. Everyone will have their speculations as to what actors should join the greatest action ensemble ever, including me. Although there are numerous unknowns who’ve cut their teeth in dozens of action flicks, The Expendables 2 deserves more household names and faces to share the explosions and fighting that gave every man with a pair a grin from ear to ear. Hopefully Arnold (if politically possible) and Bruce will get more screen time in the sequel, but the following actors should definitely be considered for major roles regardless.

Originality and Hollywood just don’t go hand in hand anymore. So many remakes are on the horizon. And with so many entertainment venues available to consumers it is becoming harder daily to come up with a good idea that no one has ever done. Hence, remakes are the name of the game now.

Guitar riff. Black van with red stripe blasting through some bushes. Mohawk. Disguises. Guns. Bigger Guns. Tanks falling from the sky. Helicopters. Cigars clenched by the strongest set of mandibles ever. If you have a problem. If no one else can help. You can call on … THE A-TEAM. Man, has this been a long time coming.

In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Now they’re back in action again with an all new cast (George Peppard RIP) for the brand spanking new A-Team Movie, due to hit screens on June 11, 2010.

Gone are the days when men would rule the “tough guy” roles in film. More and more women have made their way into the leading roles where strength and tenacity are key. These women have fought everything from zombies to psychotic murderers, all while bringing class and hotness to the screen. These are the truly badass women of Hollywood and it’s time they get some recognition.

What if Robocop took on Kindergarten Cop? What if you took the most bad-ass action heroes of our time and put them into one movie? If you just got goosebumps reading that last hypothetical, then I’ve got the movie for you. The Expendables.

I pity the fool who don’t stop what they are doing right now, and watch the trailer for The A-Team! So, it’s come to this. It was bound to happen sometime, I know. But I never thought it would effect me in such a profound way. I know, I know – I should explain. I think you better sit down. Are you sitting? OK – the badass Mr. T has… *sniffle* …has now been reduced to selling light bulb ovens on infomercials…. IS THERE NO GOD?!

Apparently, Mr. T is a big proponent of women’s rights issues, especially mothers. Which is, we’re guessing, why he made this music video, “Treat Your Mother Right.” It’s almost like this is directly from an episode of Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show Great Job!.
