To begin, it doesn’t matter how we got where we are. I really don’t care how often Obama wants to talk about who is to blame, but we are here now, we are screwed and we have to get out. YES, we know, McCain was not voted Miss Congeniality…we heard. And yes, no one really knows how to pronounce Ahmadinejad - we got it.
The sad part is, we sat around COED office drinking and watching the debate - and when it was done, we started talking and it was quite obvious that we were all watching different debates.
I was the only one left sober enough to type, so here it is…I am confused. They avoided the answer on the fiscal changes of their current plans given the Wall Street bailout. Neither one of them really answered whether they would actually vote for the current plan (McCain ended with saying YES, but it seemed like there was a BUT coming).
McCain has a real hard-on for Ronald Reagan. I know it was a little before our time to actually remember, but dammit dude - between General Petraeus and Reagan, McCain has some serious political man-crushes going on. Obama keeps talking about old votes and decisions and blame from 5 years ago, and it is like - DUDE, we are there now, who f*$%ing cares now…let’s fix it.
Either way, they seemed more interested in repeating their political messages and talking about what bracelet they were wearing for dead soldiers than they were interested in talking to each other. That moderator dude was TRYING to get them to talk to each other from the beginning, but McCain just did NOT want to make eyecontact or even acknowledge Obama was there. Obama was determined to spin every question into a question he wanted to answer.
Ironically, I think if we have a couple more debates like this they will start to warm up to each other - but this was a good start. They seem to be good and pissy with each other, but the things they NEED to spend more time talking about are: Energy (getting us off of oil and into eco-fuels), War (getting us the F&%K out of Iraq so we can worry about Russia, Korea and Iran) and Money (Banks are folding like the drunk rave chicks at 4AM).

Hey great job you guys are doing. I also noticed that Obama would look at McCain every time he spoke. McCain wouldn’t acknowledge Obama at all. I think it was more of a publicity on Obama side. To look at him and saying that he was right.
They avoided the message most of the time. I got lost to what the actually question was. I think no one actually won. Obama didn’t really knock it out the park and McCain didn’t show anything spectacular. Obama would have to be the winner but only by a little.
Next comes the VP debate which would be a very interesting one.
Keep up the good one guys

In the debates to come, I think more and more people will see the real Obama. If he doesn’t have a teleprompter in front of him, he has some real trouble. Also, he doesn’t like being criticized because he’s not used to it. He’s been the media darling and no one really questions anything he says, so it should be interesting.
As far as the VP debates go, Joe Biden is almost guaranteed to say something utterly ridiculous. He has a history of saying things that get him in trouble, so we’ll see what happens this time.

I hate to say it, Biden may say something ridiculous, but the GOP seems legitimately horrified to let Palin talk to the press. Right after the debate, Biden had a response and the Rep’s offered up Rudy G. It was like….uhhhhh….OK, was she too busy moose hunting to watch the debate?
