UCube Compact USB Digital Speakers Prove Size Doesn’t Matter [TECH REVIEW]

A company well known for innovation, Ultralink has created a 3-inch squared speaker front that doesn’t compete for space with anything else on the table. Each UCube angles itself right at you, thanks to a brushed aluminum stand that complements the high-tech side of things. But cool as this tiny pair looks, what makes them worth plugging into a USB port is what’s inside and what’s not inside. Check out our full review after the jump!

DONA The Panhandling Robot [VIDEO]

Call it a sign of the times or sweet poetic justice, but you know things are getting tough when our technological superiors are forced to take to the streets and hit up their once fleshy inferiors for some coin. While many of us are more than eager to send a throat oyster their way, you’ll at least want to give a quarter (or your entire paycheck) to DONA – the little panhandling robot that’s cute as the dickens! Not only will DONA make you look like a heartless monster for ignoring her, but she doesn’t smell like an ungodly combination of garbage and vomit like most panhandlers; not to mention she won’t whisper obscenities under breath. Watch DONA work her panhandling magic for yourself!

The 1994 iPad? [VIDEO]

Regardless of the fact that every single one of us runs out and buys the latest and greatest Apple product that comes our way, deep down, the entire general population loathes Steven Jobs with a passion. But if you thought you couldn’t hate the guy anymore, it turns out he’s – among other things – a no good plagirist! To be specific, he stole the idea for the iPad from “The Tablet,” a device from 1994 that essentially performed nearly the same functions as the iPad. Does that mean there might be an iPod from the 70s or 80s floating around? We don’t know for sure, but check out the startling similarities between the iPad and The Tablet for yourself!

ThinkGeek’s New Playmobil Apple Store Playset [VIDEO]

This isn’t funny, ThinkGeek… not funny at all. I know it’s April Fool’s Day and all, but there’s harmless joking around and then there’s just playing with the fragile emotions of a geek. Like they do every April 1st, the jerks people over at ThinkGeek make a too-awesome-for-words product that, much to the dismay of nearly everyone on the internet, doesn’t exist – until they cave in to our nerdy demands and make it happen. But I doubt this Playmobil Apple Store playset will ever be made real!

Here’s something for you to think about right now: without the wonders of technology, you wouldn’t be on COED, let alone your computer. The wheels of technology enslaving us are now officially set in motion thanks to the eye-controlled laptop and the “Jazz” telepresence robot unveiled during the CeBit technology expo in Hanover, Germany two weeks ago. American McGee’s Alice Returns To Madness This Summer [VIDEO GAMES]

There’s Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, there’s Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and then there’s American McGee’s Alice – who is a whole different chick altogether. The 2000 PC game American McGee’s Alice was a violent, surreal take on the classic tale. Here, Alice was a teen and Wonderland existed only in her mind. Her battle was a fight for her sanity and she fought it with a an arsenal of sick and twisted weaponry brutally butchering every card guard, Jabberwocky and Caterpillar in her path. Sound familiar? (*cough* Sucker Punch *cough*) The sequel, Alice: Madness Returns is set to drop this summer and trailers have now been released which give us some idea of what to expect. Bulletstorm Game Review + Vote For Your College To Win A Free Snoop Dogg Concert!

When I first saw the trailer for Bulletstorm, it seemed almost comically generic, yet another over-the-top gore-fest FPS set in a barren wasteland of mutants, savages and whatnot. Then Fox News printed an article titled “Is Bulletstorm the Worst Video Game in the World?” that described that game as something that, if played for even a few moments, would turn even the most angelic of children into a murder-loving, rape-obsessed psychopath. The article and the trailer seemed to belong on two completely different planes of existence, and I began to wonder about the game itself. Just what is this Bulletstorm. Read our review and vote for your college to win a free Snoop Dogg concert after the jump!
