We’ve all seen DirecTV’s “I Am Epic Win” commercial, it’s the follow up to the “Opulence, I Has It” spot that first aired in late July 2010. While many viewers fell in love with the “petite lap giraffe“, we couldn’t help but notice the two smokeshows by Gregor’s side. Then another pair of pretty girls showed up in this workout promo. Playboy Bunnies: Then and Now [61 PHOTOS]
Playboy Bunnies aren’t Playmates, they’re waitresses who work at the Playboy Club, of which there were dozens worldwide. Playmates and a very select few celebrities have donned the playboy bunny costume, which is custom made for each wearer. According to Hugh Hefner, the Bunny was inspired by Bunny’s Tavern, a bar and restaurant in Urbana, Illinois whose owner, Bernard “Bunny” Fitzsimmons, served Hef when he attended the University of Illinois. The outfit was the first service uniform registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. It consists of satin bunny ears, cotton tails, collars with bow ties cuffs with cuff links, black mesh pantyhose and matching high-heeled shoes. 2010 was the 50th anniversary of the bunny costume and with Hef’s birthday now a memory, we take a look back at the female form and the outfit that shaped it over those five decades after the jump!

For many college students, grads, and young professionals, a career path can be a cloudy one – a mixture of doubt and confusion, purpose and experimentation. For Mr. Hefner, it was a journey many others could sympathize with but no one has duplicated. He served as a writer for a military newspaper in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, worked as a copywriter for Esquire then raised $8,000 from 45 investors to launch Playboy. The rest is history.
