College Football Week Eleven Preview: Cheerleader Edition

College-Fball-wk-11

With fall in full swing and six teams still undefeated, we are heading into the last leg of the season.  This week features mighty battles in the Mountain West, Pac-10 and Big Ten – and yes, I included the MWC, which could surprise some people and find themselves in the national title game conversation (in the event of a miracle).  Get ready as COED covers this week’s top ten lineup. College Football Week Ten Preview: Cheerleader Edition

-4

As we turn the calendar to November and move the clocks back for Daylight Savings, the cold crisp in the air returns as the cheerleaders begin to think about fun ways to stay warm in the huddle.  With seven unbeaten teams remaining at the top of the rankings, COED previews the tenth week of the season that seems to get better with age.  An epic showdown is slated for late Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, while the Iowa Hawkeyes look to ride their season chock full of fourth quarter comebacks to stay perfect on the season and in the Big Ten.

Florida-LeadVanderbilt-Lead

No. 1 Florida (8-0) vs. Vanderbilt (2-7)

The hits keep on coming for Tim Tebow and the mighty Gators.  Another dominant performance in last week’s grudge match against the hated Georgia Bulldogs and now the team will get to rest up a bit with an easy matchup against the pitiful Commodores.  Even with Brandon Spikes out for the first half after trying to rip a man’s eye out, the D should feast on the feeble squad from Vandy.

Texas-Lead-1UCF-LEAD

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 2 Texas (8-0) vs UCF (5-3)

The Longhorns stifled the Cowboys of Oklahoma State last week and leapfrogged the Crimson Tide and regained possession of the No. 2 spot in the BCS rankings.  This week they host the UCF Knights in what should be another stepping stone along their path to the national title game.

AlabamaLSU-LEAD

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 3 Alabama (8-0) vs. No. 9 LSU (7-1)

Last week was quite different for these two SEC beasts.  Bama was at home resting a week after keeping its title hopes alive by surviving a last second blocked FG in a critical 12-10 win over the Vols, while the Tigers from Louisiana State returned to the field after a bye week and absolutely annihilated Tulane a to build some confidence after their offense was flat against the Gators.  Will this game determine who gets to play Florida in the SEC title game?

IowaNorthwestern-Lead

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 4 Iowa (9-0) vs. Northwestern (5-4)

Iowa continued its magical season when Indiana was poised to go up by three touchdowns early in the second half only to have a batted pass go off of four players before landing in the hands of Tyler Sash who returned it for an 86 yard gift wrapped interception return.  They then poured it on in the fourth quarter, outscoring the scrappy Hoosiers 28-0 to reach 9-0 and stay at No. 4 in the BCS standings – their highest ever.  This week they host a decent Northwestern team and should keep the unbeaten streak alive.

Cincinattiuconn-lead

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 5 Cincinnati (8-0) vs. UConn (4-4)

Cincy hops up three spots this week after an effective 28-7 win over the Orange in Syracuse.  This week they face a meandering UConn team who continues to have terrible luck and turmoil after two straight heartbreaking 28-24 defeats, particularly bad last week when Rutgers gave up the go ahead score and then scored back immediately all in the final minute.

TCU-Lead-1SDSU-Lead

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 6 TCU (8-0) at San Diego State (4-4)

TCU continues to punish the opposition after last week’s 41-0 shellacking of UNLV.  This week they will use the Aztecs as tackling dummies as they gear up for the pseudo MWC title game when they take on Utah the following week.  Expect them to crush, even on the road.

BoiseLTech-Lead

No. 7 Boise State (8-0) vs. Louisiana Tech (3-5)

What more can Boise State do?  They continue their assault trek against the WAC with another big win over San Jose State.  This week they travel across the country to battle another tremendously weak opponent – the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

Oregon-LeadStanford-Lead

No. 8 Oregon (7-1) at Stanford (5-3)

Look who’s back in the COED Top Ten preview.  The Ducks continue to build a pretty strong postseason resume after destroying the USC Trojans 47-20, while handing them their worst loss since 1997.  This week they must avoid a letdown game after a huge win against a dangerous Stanford team on the road.

Georgia-Tech-LEADWake-Forest-Lead

No. 10 Georgia Tech (8-1) vs. Wake Forest (4-5)

Georgia Tech sneaks back up into the top ten after their sixth straight victory – a 56-31 win that sounds a lot better than it actually was – over the Commodores in Vanderbilt.  GT trailed 31-28 in the third quarter before Tech decided to pound away at Vandy, scoring four unanswered TDs to close out the big road win.  This week they will face an underrated Wake team who will look to grab a win in Atlanta.

College Football Week Nine Preview: Cheerleader Edition

College-Fball-wk-9-feature-1

This is the week in college football where the cheerleaders are not the only ones scantily dressed and ready for a good time. Halloween falls on a Saturday night this year, which means raucous costume parties starting at Thirsty Thursday and lasting all the way through gameday. If your team takes home a victory, expect those costumes to be reduced to mere threads covering up our favorite spots.

Week Nine looks to provide plenty of good matchups on the field as well within the upper echelon of the BCS standings. With two matchups within the top ten (an SEC battle between No. 2 and No. 9 and a Pac-10 matchup fo No. 5 and No. 10), and another within the top 15 (Big 12 powerhouses at No. 3 and No. 14), we look around and wonder why Iowa is the only Big Ten team being represented here in COED’s Halloween edition of the NCAA football preview.  (more…)

College Football Week Five Preview: Cheerleader Edition

cheerwk5-feature

As we mention on a weekly basis, no team or cheerleader is safe as they appear on COED’s college football preview.  A top 10 ranking has been a gauntlet for teams to stay on pace for a shot at a BCS bowl, as four more top 10 teams fell last week (10 total in four weeks) – Mississippi, Penn State, California, and Miami (FL) – and Cal got absolutely shattered by Oregon. (more…)

College Football Week Three Preview: Cheerleader Edition

College-Football-WK3

Top 10 inhabitants beware.  Four of the preseason top 10 have already suffered losses and we are only two weeks into this new young season.  True, true – two of them lost to fellow top 10 elites, but one of them (cough, Oklahoma State, cough) decided to get stomped out by an unranked team.  As conference play begins in the Big 12, COED plans to get you amped up to start pre-gaming with beer pong, sorority raids, 3-story beer bongs, and hours and hours of cheerleader stretching prior to kickoff of Week 3 in college football (all TV times CST).  (more…)

College Football Week Two Preview: Cheerleader Edition

College-Football-Wk2

With two new teams cracking the top 10 in Week Two, we have an epic non-conference battled surrounded by a bunch of pushover games for the nation’s elite.  Obviously headlined by the classic Big Ten/Pac-10 matchup, Week Two will give the teams in the top 10 a chance to try out trick plays, give time to some freshman, and iron out any kinks in their armor prior to conference play.  COED is setting the stakes with an over/under of a 37.5-point average margin of victory for all teams in the top 10…and yes, that includes USC vs. Ohio State. (note: all TV times Eastern Time Zone) (more…)

College Football Week One: Cheerleader Edition

NCAA-Cheerleader-Lead

Welcome back, college football fans!  What better way to kick off the 2009 NCAA football season than to take a look at COED’s Top 10 Week One Football Preview: Cheerleader Edition?  It’s been a long hot summer and these girls have prepared their bodies, freshened their tans, and worked on some important techniques to do their part to ensure their team will stay atop the polls throughout the season.  Sit back and enjoy as COED walks you through the first week back on the gridiron.

Florida Cheerleader-2

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 1 Florida (0-0) vs Charleston Southern (0-0)

Tim Tebow and the defending champion Gators look to make it three out of four this season, and what easier way to start it off than a home slaughtering of the Charleston Southern Buccaneers.  The Bucs are 0-16 against FBS opponents all-time and got shattered by Miami in last season’s opener, 52-7.  This game opens with Charleston Southern as a 73-point underdog!  And you almost have to expect the “classy” Urban Meyer will do his best to cover.

Texas-Cheerleaders

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 2 Texas (0-0) vs. Louisiana-Monroe (0-0)

The Longhorns will once again open with a non-BCS opponent when they will host the Warhawks of Louisiana-Monroe.  Colt McCoy will open up his Heisman campaign without Michael Crabtree and hopes to improve upon last season’s 3859 passing yards and 34 touchdowns.

Oklahoma-Cheerleaders

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 3 Oklahoma (0-0) vs. No. 20 BYU (0-0)

Two of the nation’s top 25 will open up this season on a neutral site, playing at the brand new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Oklahoma hopes to avenge last year’s national title game defeat by getting off to a good start – and what better way than beating a constant thorn in the BCS’s side like BYU on a national stage in college football’s first ever game in Jerry Jones’ latest stadium
masterpiece.  Hopefully for Jones, there won’t be too many punts that come close to puncturing any pixels on his ridiculous HD TVs.

USC-Cheerleaders

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 4 USC (0-0) vs. San Jose State (0-0)

With a brand spanking new defense and a true freshman, Matt Barckley, at the quarterback position, questions continue to swirl around the USC Trojans this season.  How will coaching genius Pete Carroll keep up the pace and contend for a national title with a largely untested crew?  He should have no problem with San Jose State, as the Trojans
are 28-1 all-time against WAC opponents.

Alabama-Cheerleaders

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 5 Alabama (0-0) vs. No. 7 Virginia Tech (0-0)

In perhaps the biggest of the opening week games, we have an epic 5 vs. 7 battle when the Tide takes on the Hokies to kick off the new season.  Bama was riding high last season before running into a wall
known as Florida and then got wiped off the mat by the surprising Utes of Utah in their BCS bowl game.  Bama looks to get off on the right foot this year and a convincing win over Tech is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Ohio-State-Cheerleader

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 6 Ohio State (0-0) vs. Navy (0-0)

While Buckeye constituents will argue that they have USC on their docket, we all know that the Scarlet and Grey have arguably the most boring schedule in the top 10.  Aside from the fact that they aren’t that good, there is a lot going against the Midshipman in this season’s opening tilt in Columbus.  The Buckeyes won the last meeting between these teams in the 1981 Liberty Bowl and they haven’t dropped a home opener since 1978 to Penn State.  Expect Terrelle Pryor to run rampant over the nation’s finest sailors.

Ole-Miss

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 8 Ole Miss (0-0) at Memphis (0-0)

With expectations at Ole Miss higher than the days of Eli Manning, star quarterback Jevan Snead looks to lead his Rebels through the city of Memphis and leave a path of destruction in his wake.  Snead looks to improve on his 2008 season that saw him throw for 2762 yards and 26 touchdowns, not to mention the two passing and one rushing touchdown he had in a memorable win over the Florida Gators.

Oklahoma-State-Cheerleaders

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 9 (tie) Oklahoma State (0-0) vs. No. 12 Georgia (0-0)

In another huge matchup between two teams in the top 12, the Georgia Bulldogs will take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys who are ranked in a ninth-place tie with Penn State – the highest pre-season ranking in OK State team history.  Expectations are high for the Cowboys, who look to take advantage of a Georgia team that just lost star quarterback, Matt Stafford, and running back, Knowshon Moreno, to the NFL.

penn-state-cheerleaders-10

(click photo to view full gallery)

No. 9 (tie) Penn State (0-0) vs. Akron (0-0)

Okay, I digress in my thoughts that Ohio State’s schedule is the most shoddy of the bunch.  Penn State’s schedule is pathetic and the only way they can be considered for the national title is if they win each game – including the only “tough” game home against Ohio State – by 40 points.  I mean, wow, sure they are a talented team, but a non-conference schedule that is highlighted by Akron, Temple, Syracuse, and Eastern Illinois is sad for a team returning stars like Daryll Clark and Evan Royster that hopes to reach the national title game.

The Top 20 Sexiest SI Cheerleaders of the Week

SI-Cheerleader-Lead

When it comes to college cheerleaders, we here at COED fancy ourselves as experts on the matter.  But the truth is, without the insane archives of sexy cheerleader photo awesomeness from Sports Illustrated, our cheerleader posts would be hard pressed to make the 2nd string B-Team. Thankfully for us… and you, SI profiles a Cheerleader of the Week each week during college football season and to date have featured 115 of the sexiest cheerleaders America’s colleges have to offer.

The list is growing by the week and the massive amount of hotness can be a bit overwhelming so we’ve decided to cut through the madness and weed the list down to the 20 Sexiest SI Cheerleaders of the Week. Nothing against the 90 girls who didn’t make the cut, you are beautiful, but to be on this list you need to be the best.
