Babes Of The US Open 2011
August 29th marks the kickoff to the 2011 US Open, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments. Last year, Rafael Nadal won his first US Open title and Kim Clijsters became the first woman to repeat as Women’s Singles champ since Venus Williams in ’01. She won’t be threepeating as she withdrew from play with stomach muscle injury. Those games of “tummy sticks” can get pretty intense. Anyway, if you’re not a diehard tennis fan, you might opt not to watch. Big mistake. You’ll be missing out on some of the hottest athletes in the world. Luckily, we’ve pinpointed the definitive list of ball-bashing babes to keep an eye on in this year’s affair. Check it out then let us know if we missed anyone in the comments section after the jump.
COED Catches A Wave With Pro Surfer Model Erica Hosseini [13 PHOTOS]
Erica’s a 24 year old surfer and model from Newport Beach, California. She got her first surfboard at age 11 then at 14, she broke a world record by becoming the youngest surfer to make the ASP finals. Her career has only taken off since then. She also holds her own in front of the camera having posed for Maxim, Men’s Journal, Transworld, 944, and the LA Times. Bleacher Report even ranked her among their top 20 hottest surfers in the world. Not bad. We managed to score an interview with Erica last week to see what she’s up to. We got winded just hearing how busy she is. Check out our Q&A with the hang ten hottie after the wave jump.
12 Pics of Tennis Pro Ashley Harkleroad For Her 26th Birthday
Yet another reason to celebrate today, Ashley Harkelroad turns 26. This smoking tennis player was the cover model for a Playboy shoot in April of ’08. Apparently, this makes her the first tennis player to ever pose in her birthday outfit for the magazine in the history of the world. At one point in time, Ashley was ranked 61 in the world. While we are certainly not tennis fanatics, we’re pretty sure that for one brief, shining moment she was ranked 69th. Nice. Check out more of her pictures from that Playboy shoot and others after the jump!

5 Things NFL Players Can Do During The Lockout
Last week, we brought you the 30 expensive things you could buy with the estimated $12B that could be lost during the NFL lockout. With football no longer on their schedule, players must seek alternative means to pass the time and, in many cases, make a buck. Before we were internet moguls… we were career consultants! That’s why we’d like to offer our services to the hundreds of pro football players who have grown tired twiddling their thumbs. As Tim Tebow or Kurt Warner can attest, idle hands are the devil’s tools. See our top suggestions for things NFL players can do during the lockout after the jump!
Defunct Sports Leagues That Should Be Reinstated
The Arena Football League (AFL) was founded in 1987 by a former executive of the United States Football League and the National Football League named Jim Foster. Large debts forced the league to suspend operations indefinitely in 2009. After some retooling, fans everywhere can experience the triumphant return of the league that gave us Kurt Warner tonight on the NFL Network. To honor its comeback, we take a look at other leagues that deserve another crack at entertaining the masses. See our picks after the jump!
Tom Brady’s Fairy Dance At Carnival In Brazil [Animated GIF]
People love giving Tom Brady sh*t, yet nothing affects this guy. Why should it? Three-time Super Bowl winner, Pro Bowler, future Hall of Famer, dating a Victoria’s Secret supermodel. I mean, the guy was sharing time with Drew Henson (where is he, btw?) at Michigan, gets drafted real low mostly because of the photo you see below, yet still manages to brush it off and win ballgames. But still… it’s so easy to rip on him. Just look at him dancing down in Brazil for Carnival. Good… God. Ya know, they say your dancing abilities correlate with your skill level in the sack. If that’s the case, we assume Gisele’s on top. See the gif after the jump!
5 Sports That Should Go Pro
It’s a fact: not everybody enjoys watching a traditional sports game; some people don’t care to pass out from heatstroke in the bleachers at a baseball game nor do they enjoy seeing a bloody tooth floating in their beer rinkside at a hockey game. Truth is the more sports out there, the lesser the chance you’ll get bored and commit a felony. There are a ton of coed rec leagues that embrace the sports we knew and loved growing up. Why not go the Beerfest route and make some playground sports into bankable careers? See our list of leagues that should go pro after the jump!
Charlie Sheen Not On Drugs; Channeling Lou Brown From Major League
COED has just learned that former “Two and a Half Men” ninja warrior Charlie Sheen isn’t on drugs and he isn’t wasted on booze – he’s possessed by the ghost of the Cleveland Indians manager from “Major League”, Lou Brown! After listening to Charlie spew classic one-lines for the last week, we began to recognize his gruff pitch and tonality is on par with the actor who played Lou Brown, James Gammon, who passed away last year right around the time when Charlie’s antics began to cause waves. So, it only makes sense Lou’s spirit would enter the body of his most prized closer Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn. Hear the proof after the jump!
Under Armour’s E39 Shirt Scares The Gs Out Of Me
The 2011 NFL scouting combine takes place this weekend, which means lightning quick 40 yard dashes, Herculean reps on the bench, broad jumps, vert jumps, and CONES! If you’re watching on the NFL Network, you might notice a bunch of the potential draftees are wearing futuristic looking shirt that make them look like Iron Man. Turns out the shirt is making its debut and already has an official endorser – standout Alabama wide receiver, Julio Jones. What does the shirt do, besides teleportation? Find out after the jump!

NHL’s Most Badass Enforcers of All-Time
Through the history of the NHL, there have been many so-called “goons” that specialize in protecting their team’s star players and possibly have little more value than their fighting ability. That said, some of these players also have a decent overall skill set that is overshadowed by their pugnacity. With that in mind, here is our list of the NHL’s Most Badass Enforcers of All-Time.
Blake Griffin Has Ridiculous Ups [DUNK VIDEOS]
Blake Griffin is having a ridiculous “rookie” season in the NBA (after missing last year with an injury) and he plans to showcase those talents on the national stage at this weekend’s All-Star game. The Western Conference Rookie of the Month for the past 3 months set a franchise record for most consecutive double-doubles, set a Clippers record for most points scored by a rookie, and is the first rookie to have two 40+ games in his rookie season since Allen Iverson. He can owe a great deal of his success to his pure, raw physical talents, namely his jumping abilities. Dude has ups. He’s got so much ups sometimes he misjudges how high he can get. See the video along with his best dunks after the jump!
12 Dale Earnhardt Sr. Tribute Tattoos [Photos]
Dale Earnhardt was to NASCAR what Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, and Wayne Gretzky were to their respective sports. Today marks the 10th anniversary of Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s fatal crash on the very last lap of the 2001 Daytona 500, a race he had won only three years before. Check out these 25 classic photos of Dale Earnhardt compiled by Sports Illustrated, watch video of the accident as it happened in real time and check out pics of fans paying tribute to the Intimidator with tats of the legend. The crash was so unspectacular that the broadcast carried on without the announcers knowing what had happened. See the pics and video after the jump.
Pro Wrestling’s 10 Greatest Finishing Moves Of All Time: Attacks & Throws
Finishers used to mean a lot more in pro wrestling, and that’s not to say they’re meaningless now. However, there’s something to be said for the fact that since an epic match between Stone Cold and The Rock at Wrestlemania, everyone seems to kick out of everyone else’s finisher, thus degrading their value. Nonetheless, they are still a vital part of the storyline in the ring. When used in the right place, they’re the explosive exclamation point to a climactic ending. PLEASE NOTE: These moves are attacks and throws only. We didn’t include aerial or submission finishers. Those will be covered in the weeks to come. See our picks after the jump!
