I pity actors who have been forced to settle into a typecast after playing a character that was too memorable. Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins had a hard time finding work after the debut of Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller Psycho. Leonard Nimoy can only land odd jobs if the work is sci-fi or Star Trek related. Even now, Daniel Radcliffe can only ever be Harry Potter on the big screen. There are, however, many actors, allegedly with decent range, who consciously decide to perform the same roles over and over again. We took a picture of a street sign and asked our Facebook Fans to use ovi.com to figure out what town we were in. As it usually goes when we ask a question to our 84,000+ Facebook Fans we had an answer within a minute or two. Number one, great internet research by Glencoe Photog. Number two, the real question should have been, “Who is the babe model in Glencoe Photog’s profile pic?” Good lordy!

The Pigeon Feeding Police Officer Was More Astounding Than The Alamo

We stopped by The Alamo in San Antonio and I have to say I was pretty unimpressed. More tourists per square foot than anywhere I’ve ever been. Not surprising I guess considering there is a Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and Madame Tussauds directly across the street. I think the most Astounding part of The Alamo was this real life San Antonio police officer who was feeding pigeons out of his bare hand like it was no big deal. He wasn’t even charging $5 per picture like you’d expect in a spot like that. In an attempt to salvage San Antonio we did a little recon and people told us about the River Walk which is a sweet row of bars and restaurants right on the river. It was a solid spot to grab a drink, babe watch and beat the heat.

Free Falling at the Zero Gravity Thrill Park in Dallas, TX

I’ve ridden some of the biggest and fastest roller coasters on Earth so I assumed I was a pretty big thrill seeker but my whole perspective changed in Dallas, TX at the Zero Gravity Thrill Park. Having to walk the plank and bungee jump head first or free fall 200 feet into a net with no harness or ropes was a game changer for me. Day One of the Astound Me Adventure in New York City [Photos]

John and I kicked off the Nokia Astound Me adventure in New York City. The the trip officially started with our check-in at The Highline. We then worked our way up to Columbus Circle and all the way down to lower Manhattan. Manhattan was decked out in red, white and blue for the 4th of July so we decided take pictures with the Astound Me flag at various Patriotic locations around the city. We got some great pictures but it seemed like the wind was consistently blowing in the wrong direction (posted a few dozen flag outtake photos to Facebook). The Astounding location of the day was Stone Street in lower Manhattan. It’s an old cobble stone street lined with bars. The street is closed to traffic and all the bars have outdoor seating, definitely a hidden gem that everyone should check out.
