Day One of the Astound Me Adventure in New York City [Photos]

July 3, 2011     Posted in Astound Me HP

John and I kicked off the Nokia Astound Me adventure in New York City. The the trip officially started with our check-in at The Highline. We then worked our way up to Columbus Circle and all the way down to lower Manhattan. Manhattan was decked out in red, white and blue for the 4th of July so we decided take pictures with the Astound Me flag at various Patriotic locations around the city. We got some great pictures but it seemed like the wind was consistently blowing in the wrong direction (posted a few dozen flag outtake photos to Facebook). The Astounding location of the day was Stone Street in lower Manhattan. It’s an old cobble stone street lined with bars. The street is closed to traffic and all the bars have outdoor seating, definitely a hidden gem that everyone should check out.

Reserving complete judgement until I know for sure, but for right now: this looks like the stupidest thing ever and it seems to involved the people involved are basically tools. "Yeah bro, everyone should check out 'stone street' in lower Manhattan because its like totally cool and paved with real stones, bro!" Fukata here, tourists
