Well what she said was not nice at all but some truth
1. Posting the video right after a tsunami wasn't the best decision, yes they should step out the library as anyone should, but she exaggerated saying that they called their whole address book.
2. She was being pretty racist with her really bad imitation of an Asian.
3. Their will always be ignorant people, but she is really bunching all Asians as rude and loud, yes Asians do talk loud but that is how our language is. We should be considerate though while in the library.
4. She is saying that Asians don't have manners, yes there will be a good amount but she is again bunching all Asians as having no American manners. Though i am well aware that she would say Asians cause they make a good % of UCLA population so their would likely be more rude Asians.
5. She said Asians can't fend for themselves that is a huge generalization, yes maybe the more than average visit from their families might be tedious but i am sure their family is just trying to be supportive.
6. Yes there has been some over reaction but she should be well aware that what she said is far from nice, and being a student at UCLA means you should have your morals set and think before you post something to the world.
7. The reason for the massive hype about the video is because she is really pretty not going to lie, she is not Asian, and most would judge her by her looks that she doesn't study hard.

What's NOT okay, however, is putting down another race in such a manner that blatantly implies that your own culture is superior to others. Had she simply stated that it was annoying when people talked on their phones in the library, she would not have received the response that she did. She is commenting on what she sees and perceives to be fact, and in her little world (the library) her perception was that the Asian students were the violators. At the end she even makes the comment that "even if your not Asian you shouldn't be on your cell phone, I just never seen that happen before" Apparently all the other races at UCLA know how to follow the rules. Try and answer a cell phone in a court room and see how fast you get slapped with a contempt charge. I guess if it were all Asian that were using there phones in a court room, and charged with contempt, that the US Court Systems would be labeled racist too, even though all the other races know how to follow the rules. Lets face it, people who break rules, be it White Black Asian etc.etc., cause collateral damage to others in society. This poor girl and all the others in that library pay big bucks to go to college and are looking for a quite place to study. This also happened right after it was rumoured that a few Americans voiced that they didn't want to donate to the Tsunami relief because when Katrina hit, no one wanted to help them. It's just bad timing on her part.
