   As a Utah fan, I love that the blond with "byu" on her shorts is wearing the shoulder pads backwards. As a guy, I know that I'm missing the point. But it's still funny.

   As far as the "physically demanding and violent" part, I agree that it may seem like it's a bunch of standing around, interrupted by some short bursts of action, compared to sports like rugby or soccer. I think the violent part comes from the fact that in American football, the main goal of more than half the offensive team is to hit the other team hard enough to knock them out of the way, and the job of the entire defensive team is to knock everyone out of the way to tackle the guy with the ball.

   I also know I won't solve this debate, and that we're not really here to debate the issue, but rather to look at "scantally (or scantily, take your pick) clad stone cold foxes wearing shoulder pads." So that's some common ground we can all appreciate.

   Soccer fans can start complaining pads once their players stop falling over and faking a heart attack every time someone sneezes in Nepal.

   As for rugby, yup that is a tough sport with tough men. I knew some Penn State rugby guys in college- they were crazy mofos!
