As 2009 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to thank the hard working men and women of Child Protective Services… lord knows you’ve had one helluva busy year. From the morally bankrupt parents of the infamous balloon boy to the fame whoring Jon and Kate parents of 8, 2009 has been a stellar year for the bad parent and a monumental year for the bad celebrity mom and dad. And the Nominees for the 2009 Worst Celebrity Parent Hall of Fame Are…
10. Flava Flav
It’s tough having so many kids from so many different baby-mamas so Flav does the only thing a man in his position can do…he doesn’t see any of them. But hey, it’s Flava Flav, would you want him spending time with your kid? He may be a deadbeat dad but at least he hasn’t ruined his kids’ lives like the next nine have.
9. Jon and Kate
Anyone who decides that they are going to have a kennel of kids is a terrible parent. Anyone who decides to have their home lives broadcast around the world is an even worse parent. Any guy who leaves his family on national television is just a douche. Those are going to be some well-rounded children when they grow up…
8. David Hasselhoff
The only thing worse than hitting rock bottom is hitting rock bottom while your daughter is taping you AND you drop your burger on the floor. When even your daughter thinks you’re a massive douche, you probably went wrong somewhere.
7. Woody Allen
It is a hell of a list when the guy who married his step daughter is only seventh. Sure Woody married his much-younger Asian step daughter…but at least it was consensual…I think.
6. The Lohans
In the case of most child stars, their early fame is usually blamed for their ultimate collapse. In Lindsay Lohan’s case, there isn’t much doubt what factors caused her to wind up as a complete train wreck.
5. Ryan O’Neal
It’s a douche move to try to pick up chicks at your ex-wife’s funeral, it’s an even douchier move when the chick you’re trying to pick up (in a drunken stuper) is your own daughter. Smooth.
4. Courtney Love
You can simply look at a photo of Courtney Love and see that she would be a terrible parent but it took the courts eleven years before they had to take Courtney and Kurt Cobain’s daughter Francis Bean away after mommy OD’ed on Oxycontin. Ah, to be the child of a rockstar…
3. Octo-Mom
Ok, so Nadya Suleman wasn’t a celebrity until she decided to knock herself up with 8 children in one fail swoop, but we just couldn’t leave this freakshow Mom off the list. Nothing better than supporting a litter of children on no salary. Yeah, those kids are all going to become well regarded members of society. Let’s just hope that these kids and Britney’s kids don’t breed.
2. The Jacksons
Joe Jackson should just win father of the year all the time, especially since he produced would-be parents like Jermaine Jackson who named his kid “Jermajesty” and Michael Jackson who, among other things (cough, cough), held his youngest child over the railing of a hotel balcony.
1) John Phillips
Terrible parenting is terrible parenting but John Phillips took it to another level, having sex with and hoping to marry his daughter Mackenzie Phillips. This recent revelation made all 49 states that aren’t West Virginia go “Ewwww” all at the same time.

I completely agree Jon and Kate belong on this list for using their children to support themselves and put them in a position of having no privacy to grow up in at all. I COMPLETELY disagree that having a large family automatically makes you a terrible parent. I know people with one child who are in over their heads. I have friends who recently had their tenth and they work hard, support their family themselves (and they are not rich), keep a clean home, have happy, healthy, well-adjusted children. They are definitely NOT terrible parents.
This list is completly idiotic and stupid..the idoiot who created this probbaly a terrible parent…where is retard Brittany? She should be number one.
When the show first started it was fun to watch these parents raise their children. As time went by, Kate began showing her true self. She was so mean to her husband, she spoke to him as if he was one of her children, she mocked him, & she became full of herself.I was hoping her husband would grow a spine & stand up for himself.It was clear they were both unhappy and TLC should have stopped the show. Kate became very greedy & had no regard for her children as she continued to put Jon down with her snide remarks just to continue making easy money off her children. It seams as if Jon grew a couple, but then he behaved like a kid in high school. He was going out drinking and messing around with young women. The show became brutal to watch these people make ASSES out of themselve. The children had to live with these ignorant people known as their parents. Now they will be parting ways and instead of trying to give these kids some kind of normalcy these parents think they are celebrities and want to be paid big bucks instead of going back to the jobs they know.. Who in the hell do these people think they are? NOBODY but Greedy Fools that through fertility have eight children, children that have to hear & see things no child should have to be exposed to. So YES these people ARE TERRIBLE PARENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like you should not be judging these parents like this sure they may not do everthing right but i am sure all parents have made mistakes some just learn from them and some don't people everywhere have no morals and society is beginning to think its ok we need to start to realize that there are going to be consequences for the things we do but we are not helping by putting people down all the time and futhermore i am from wv and not married to a relative thank you! people from wv are just as good as they are anywhere else.We are real people who have real problems and don't live in a reality tv show!
These people should be sterilized, immediately so they cannot inflict themselves on anymore children. A couple of them can still pull their heads out of their asses and start to become parents to their kids. Others it's just too late, too much has been done to ever undo. I can only hope that they will get old and have to be taken care of by the children that they raised -can you say payback? Although they would have to get pretty creative to out do what Mommy and Daddy did to them. Now that might make for a fun new reality show.

Kris Kardshian and Bruce Jenner are pitiful, making their living off their daughters. Don't forget Kim Kardashian has done nothing but make a sex tape and is famous for her big ass (Joel McHale of E's The Soup always reminds us of that – THANKS JOEL.) The other sisters are trash, too, one pregnant and single, and the other married after 1 month of knowing her new "husband". The thing my husband and I really hate about them is that they have two younger daughters, who will grow up just like their sisters and keep mom and dad in money to the further detriment of "girls" in America. Bruce appears to be a bumbling idiot. He seems to be a terrible father that they laugh at and make fun of all the time. Kris Jenner would love to be one of the sisters, be she's too OLD.
