Engineering a song while high, although may be fun, is not necessarily beneficial. Being high makes things sound better – not a good attribute when your job is to "make things sound better." I can tell you from experience that you may produce/engineer a song while high and once you come back and listen to it sober will think to yourself "what the hell was I thinking?" Professional and successful audio engineering is best done with a clear mind and accuracy, being high doe not help either of those.

Funny you mention the AT&T representative. I worked for both CompUSA (when it was still around) and Verizon FiOS. I smoked before work, on the way to work, at work, on my lunch break, and on the way home from work. It's literally the only way i was able to keep from yelling at every single fucking customer i had to deal with.

Here's another: Dog walker in a kennel.

For the most part, the job consists of walking around in circles in a small yard and playing with dogs. Bonus points if you can give the hyperactive Labrador a contact high.

Of course, just about everyone I work with happens to be a huge pothead, too.
