Everybody, Freak Out: Disney Buys Marvel for $4 Billion!

Looks like Spider-Man will be hanging out with Mickey Mouse more often than he wants. The Walt Disney Company has agreed to acquire Marvel Entertainment and all its superheroes. The total cost of the acquisition will be around $4 billion.

Disney will now have access to over 5,000 Marvel characters, some of them which include house hold names like Spider-Man, X-Men, and Iron-Man. This is what Marvel’s CEO, Ike Perlmutter, had to say: Read more…

    If this means that Marvel will get toned down to reach a younger audience I will be pissed off!

    I mean yes, Marvel does already direct a lot of attention towards their younger readers but the day wolverine stops bashing heads in and starts going fishing with Goofy is the day that the world stops turning.

    I'm sure Disney will find SOME WAY to ruin the currently successful Marvel movie franchise.

    I am seriously concerned, with Disney having ownership of Marvel and I agree with Ian in that they'll find some way to take away what Marvel truely is, and it won't be the same…Ever
