Today Is National Go Topless Day!

In the United States, there’s just something about exposed female nipples that sends people into a fit of disgust. Because of this, most of the country’s laws forbid women to display their breasts in public. Even the acceptance of breast feeding out in the open has come under attack.

As you might have guessed, we here at COED think this is a ridiculous form of discrimination against the rights of women to show off their bodies when they want, how they want. It’s called feminism, people! Which is why we’re so excited that today is National Go Topless Day (mildly NSFW )!

In honor of Women’s Equality Day, GoTopless.org (NSFW) has organized protests for the right of women to go topless in US cities, from New York to Venice Beach, fighting The Man by… showing their boobs! Now, that’s a civil liberty we can get excited about!

P.S. Since the COED offices are in New York, we thought we’d point out that women being topless is completely legal here. A Supreme Court decision in 1992 decided that women have the right to go topless whenever they please. So why not show some support for women who aren’t so free?

I say give women all the equality they want. If they want to show thier tits, who am I to stand in there way. If they want to showem' I want to look. Nipples and all. Go for it girls.

I imagine some local girls joined in with no idea that this was a Raelian sponsored event. If this was a genuine effort, I'd have no problem with it. But it was a shameful publicity stunt by a UFO clone sex cult, lead by megalomaniac leader Claude Vorilhon, known to his followers as Rael. This protest was no doubt a sleazy publicity ploy to generate attention for his whacked-out cult. How could the city give permission to these nut cases?

So girls, if you really want to take your tops off, please do it for yourself and your own ideals! Don’t allow your breasts to be used as a publicity stunt for this lecherous old fart willing to do anything for attention and publicity, or in this case manipulate you in order to bring attention to his “movement”!
