Miss Venezuela Stefania Fernandez was crowned Miss Universe 2009 in the Bahama’s Sunday night. This marks the second year in a row Miss Venezuela has won the Miss Universe Crown. We’re not sure what their putting in the water down south of the border, but please what ever you do, don’t stop.

This contest has become a joke. For 25 years now most winners comes from that latin America countries. There are other more prettier and smarter girls in that beauty contest than her I don't know why the other countries of the world still send a delegate to this very bias joke of a universal beauty contest. There are no black winners for a long time nor an asian winner. If that's the case then why don't countries like the Asian, African and European have their own beauty contest separate from this. This should be rename as Ms Universe pageant for the latin American countries only.

It's so biased. Look at the judges. All are from the Americas!! To make it fair, there should be equal numbers of judges from Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa. This pageant should be renamed as Miss Latina International.
AS EXPECTED, ANOTHER ARTIFICIALLY ENHANCED BEAUTY FROM VENEZUELA WON THE PAGEANT! SHE DOESN'T EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH NOR WAS SHE ABLE TO ANSWER THE QUESTION CORRECTLY. OBVIOUSLY, THERE WAS DISCRIMINATION OF CONTESTANTS COMING FROM ASIA SINCE NONE WAS INCLUDED IN THE FINAL 15. THESE GIRLS WERE JUST WASTING THEIR TIME, EFFORT AND MONEY JOINING THIS CONTEST!

I seem to hear a lot of "Why not us?" complaints from the ugly girls, so let me clarify the critieria we use.
Checklist to Aesthetic beauty:
[] Bright gorgeous Eyes (oops, I guess this means *you guys* are out, since we can't see yours.)
[] Full Lips (out again..)
[] Bouncy Hair (*bouncy*, not flat and dead.)
[] Pleasing Face shape (not just one round, flat ball.)
[] A Nose is required, naturally. (ouch!)
[] Beautiful smile and white symmetrical teeth (actually able to make more than *two facial expressions* is important one too)
[] Smooth tan healthy skin (..that's "tan, not "pale yellow.)
[] A curvy body, complete with a satisfactory breast size and *Hips* (oh shoot, you guys don't have any.)
[] Height. Because taller people are sexier. (This means taller than 5.5'')
[] A pleasing voice. (Not high-pitched, over-excited and screechy.)
[] Pleasing limbs; a portionate thickness in the thighs, and a lack of in the hands, ankles and feet. (Because nothing ruins the "hotness" of a woman like Fred Flintstone feet.)
NOTE: This list does not apply to blacks. They are gorgeous.

Why do South American women win in beauty all the time?
**Because they are the best of both worlds ethnically:
European and native Indian, mostly; besides black, japanese, german and arab.

well me as a latino i like seeing latin women winning the paegents. but i have to agree that this is pretty biased. i don't think she deserved it. none of the top 15 did in my opinion (except maybe switzerland and sweden). i want to see someone from asia ( i know japan won two years ago) or europe or middle east to win, but either they don't have something or the judges just don't know what they're doing. what i noticed too was that they always ignore the smaller countries. countries like USA seems to always make it in the top 5 or 10. make no mistake i want USA to win but remember the last two years when they slipped in the swimsuit or evening gown and still managed to make top 5? kudos to the ladies for managing to get up and keep going but come on. this year was very disappointing and i hope donald trump can do something about this

I am a southamerican woman and I do agree with Meme a 100%. Southamerican women have the best of two worlds: native southamerican and european!!!. Although, I must say that Stefania was not the prettiest..and it looked a little fishy that Venezuela won again.

Miss Universe is generally awarded to the woman who has the most access to plastic, enhancement surgery…. nose and boob jobs are a dime a dozen in Venezuela and many Latin American countries.
Sorry Tyler and Eliz…. it isn't and never has been about exercise ane eating healthy. It's about nips and tucks and most contestants from countries like Venezuela look nothing like their passport photos. Think Michael Jackson post-plastic surgery!
