Michael Vick Paid His Debt – MOVE ON!
He went to prison. Not country club prison, but federal “F you in the A” prison.
Let PETA do their usual song and dance; let them come to every game and spray blood like it’s a 1970s Gallagher concert, but don’t buy into this crap. We have a justice system for a reason. For every crime, there is a debt owed to society. Michael Vick has paid it according to the American judicial system.
Oh the sh*t storm that is going to ensue throughout the entire preseason! We will talk about the dogs, their names, how innocent and precious they were. I even heard an SNY personality claim that they might as well invite OJ back to play. Let’s all slow down, and take a breathe.
What we SHOULD be talking about is WTF are the Eagles going to do with that many QBs. Feely, Kolb…oh…and some dude named Donovan McNabb. Are they going to try some freakish reincarnation of the Wildcat Offense with one of the most talented NFL athletes since Deion? Will we play other positions? Is there a conditional for the $5M balloon in the 2nd year option?
…nope…
Instead, Michael Vick will be spending his first couple of days talking about animal violence with Philadelphia youths. There are already boycotts, burnings and protests scheduled for almost every press conference surrounding this. Look, I expect this from PETA – hot chicks who hate fur, love animals and have too much time on their hands – go crazy. But for the public to participate in the “outrage” is silly if not un-American. He f*&ked up, he paid the price and he is going back to what he does – playing football.

so if a pedophile went to prison and then was released, would you want him working in an elementary school? i don't think so… he had his shot in the NFL and because of what he didn't he shouldn't be allowed to play professionally EVER AGAIN!
I completely agree. The fact that this guy's ALREADY missed a season of football and has to possibly be out another 6 games is INSANE when you have Dante Stallworth kill a freakin' dude while driving drunk, spend 24 days in jail (which he's currently trying to plea DOWN BTW), and miss one season of football is just wrong. People need to move on and let Vick find a way to make a living already.
I love animals and what he did was wrong but the punishment was just plain stupid. Putting animals above humans via courts is just wrong, just like punishing stupidity is in the Plaxico Burress case. Thug acts like PacMan Jones should pay, but these guys are just idiots that need slaps on the hands and ARE getting that and FAR more by our screwed up judicial system.
Nobody is trying to say that dogs are more important than people, but just because the are not human does not mean they don't deserve to be treated humanely. A man who hooks up a frightened, bleeding dog up to a car battery and tosses him into a swimming pool to watch him cry and drown while he drinks a cold beer in not only inhumane, he is inhuman. This is the person we as a nation want to hold up to our youth as someone to aspire to be like? Just because he can throw a football? Your priorities are sadly out of whack, all because you want to be able to watch the NFL play with a clear conscience.
I say let him it is not like he hurt a person. You cannot compare hurting an animal to hurting a child or a person. He did his time now let him get back to work.
Its the next step to becoming a serial killer, or molester. Its a proven fact that people that callously abuse animals, the next step is people. Wake up!
People who abuse animals often go on to abuse children, wives, the elderly. Just because the dogs can't talk or press charges…oh never mind. You're just another piece of sub-human garbage.
Super Dave,
if you did any research at all, like read the court documents and/or the Lost Dogs book by sports illustrator senior editor Jim Gorant, you would know all this, but clearly you have not, so here goes…

Today should be a marvelous day for all Michael Vick supporters everywhere. Once again a pseudo-celebrity is being released from prison, having completed her court assigned incarceration for a violent crime. Well, let me rephrase that – completing their sentence for a trivial crime associated with their alleged involvement in a violent crime. Casey Anthony served two and a half years for "providing false statements to investigators" and Vick served one and a half years for "promoting interstate gambling." Anthony COULD have spent the rest of her life – a life that MAY have been shortened by the State – in prison, and Vick COULD have spent upwards of six decades in state prison. But the courts have spoken, sentences have been served, and both are free to do as they please. They have served their time, so it's time to just get over it. At least that's how the sentiment goes for Vick…
Jim Jones – banging a CHILD and killing a dog are DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT. Are you insane?!
There is NO difference between beating, torturing, maiming and murdering no matter what the species or the age of the victim. Are you insane?!
I don’t care for Michael Vick and never have. Killing dogs is unacceptable in my book. Michael Vick has served his time and now it’s up to Goodell to figure it all out. I will not support the Eagles organization in any way and hope they get their asses handed to them every Sunday.
You people who support Michael Vick make me sick..He is a scumbag…He shouldn't get to play in the NFL anymore….enough said.
Jesus paid your debt on the cross and you paid your debt to this society.Football is still a job. If you were a pizza guy or worked at 7/11 would they say you shouldn't be allowed to be a pizza guy? Don't be ridiculous. Be humble young man and keep seeking His face. You been thru some thangs and so have I so we know what He can do and I know He's made a change in you. Praise the Lord!!! I love you because the Bible tells me to. "Love ye one another…" It doesn't say "Judge ye one another…"
His debt will paid when he dies and stands before his maker. That ought to be quite a conversation.
He did NOT pay his debt. He went to jail for federal racketeering. He did NOT do one single day in jail for animal abuse or the murder of innocent animals. There is a big difference. It's as if a child molester kidnapped a kid, took them to another state and then raped them, and only doing the time for transporting them across state lines. Michael vick might be a great football player. A great human being he is not and he should not be held up as hero to the youth of today.
History shows that people who start out hurting animals, will one day do the same to people.

Wow The ignorance and callus on this page is overwhelming! First and foremost – to those Christians who say you must forgive or to anybody who says forgive and foret, a person needs to be remorseful and to regret what they have done to be forgiven. Vick has said that he would still be fighting and torturing dogs til this day if he was not caught, his biggest regret is that he went to gaol/jail – not what he did. He got off on killing dogs. there are many quotes by Vick that go into detail the pleasure he derived from elctrocuting dogs, bashing dogs heads in with shovels etc. You can bang on about his (very weak) apology – however since that apology he has also come out to say "it wasn't" my fault. The man is not sorry for what he has done – just that he has been caught. He derived pleasure and got off on torturing animals.
Exactly. No contrition…no redemption.
For those of you who say – "who cares… it's not like it was a human" do you have any idea of the statistics of those who have tortured animals and derived the same pleasure that Vick has and gone on to be serial killers, pedophiles, murderers? so if your not worried for the animals sake… I would atleast be worried for yours, its been proven that people who do these kinds of things to animals – do not have any qualms about doing the same thing to a human being.
Really? Michael Vick attached electrodes to the ears of dogs who lost and had them attached to a car battery. He then threw the dogs into a half filled swimming pool where they were unable to escape. They screamed and clawed the sides of the pool bloody trying to get out. This is how they died. He took another dog, the Little Red Dog, and raised her over his head and threw her repeatedly to the ground until she was dead. Over and over. Others were shot in the head. Others were hung by the neck until they died. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for what he did and in no way, shape, or form, is this excusable. He has never once expressed remorse for what he did. Watch the comedy central link above where the only thing in his life he has regrets for is that he did "so long" in prison. If he had been convicted of the animal abuse charges, he would be facing over 60 years. You need to do your research, as there is a direct link between people who abuse animals and those who later harm people. This man is a sociopath. He is no hero. My son, who is a football player, and who loves animals, doesn't give him the time of day. Oh, and by the way, interestingly enough, if you look at the NFL Top Ten Quarterbacks lists from last week, you will notice that Mr. Vick did not even make the list. Just because he is a good athlete does not mean he deserves a second chance or to be a "role model". He is far from that.
the only reason he has been forgiven is because we are talking about mega bucks football! if we were talking about say ice skating like tonya harding its a different story. He should not have been taken back to the nfl. it really wasnt the ethical thing to do. besides maybe if he wasnt earning millions with football and sponsorships he would actually have some time to make up to the animals for what he did!
Like others said he didn't pay for the animal abuse and he is one step away from doing that to a human this is a proven psychological fact. The fact he shows no remorse for what he did shows his morals and that money gets you off for really messed up things these days. He is a sociopathic person to do this to a loyal loving pitbull that would never turn on him so he knew that these dogs were loyal to their deaths and the more easy to abuse. The people excusing him and using him as a role model can all get bent. Shows they are in the gutter just like him. Screw all and any of you that say he's innocent or to just get over it.
What are the dogs he abused, tortured and then killed visciously supposed to do? Get over it? They can't and I for one will never forgive him or support him. And can't wait till he has to pay for what he has done in his next life it wont be pretty for him, and i would love to be there to watch that!!
Ok first of all He has not served time for killing by his own admission on video tape to 35 dogs that are buried on his old property, he did not serve time for the 60 that were seized from the property. He did not do time for cruel and inhumane treatment, He did time for racketeering, he pleaded his case down so the world and his fans hopefully would not get all the dirt on him. He regrets nothing also on video, he stated he only regrets how long he spent in prison. Before you assume he has paid for his crime pls read the lost dog. From that book which is about the Vick dogs and their redemption…….PG 93 "And then there was one last body that stood out from the rest. It had signs of bruising on all four ankles and all along one side. It's skull was fractured in two places and had four broken vertabrae. Brownie had said all the dogs that didn't die from being hanged were drowned, except one. As that dog lay on the ground fighting for air, Quanis Phillips grabbed it's front legs and Michael Vick grabbed it's hind legs. They swung the dog over their heads like a jump rope then slammed it to the ground. The first impact didn't kill it, so they slammed it again. The two men kept at it, alternating pounding the creature against the ground until at last the little red dog was dead. Now after hearing this and this is one just one of who knows how many instances you think he has paid his time??? Any other person committing these crimes would have done time on each and every count…… they would be hard pressed to find any work at all much less the money vick is making, HIS OWN statement contridict the suppossed work he has done for dogs and educating children because they are only lies, his behavior shows this…. Watch him by his own admissin no regrets.. .http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=382318&title=michael-vick-s-regrets
thank you angelina! do you mind if i add your opinion to my notes on fb?
I would say Michael Vick pays his debt in full, when he serves a chew toy for a pack of rabid wild wolves, while his hands and feet are fully restrained and he has no way to to escape! The same way he treated those dogs, by his own admission!
"He did his time now let him get back to work"…uhm What? for racketeering perhaps but certainly not for the brutal torture and killing of those innocent dogs. I can just imagine that he is laughing all the way to the bank, mocking the poor fools who believe in him. In regards to "….for the public to participate in the “outrage” is silly if not un-American"…so are we to assume that you think what he did was "silly" ? and we are "un-American" for caring? Wow under what rock did you crawl out from, not one on American soil surely. Before you make such a ridiculous statement, you should really be better informed of the FACTS. Go read "The Lost Dog" and if that doesn't touch your soul in some way, well then there is something seriously wrong with you.
Hey Suzi, I'm NOT a member of PETA, I despise them. But I did my homework on this, you need to do yours.
Suzi q, I cannot stand PETA… they are NOT NOT NOT animal lovers…
if you did any research at all, like read the court documents and/or the Lost Dogs book by sports illustrator senior editor Jim Gorant, you would know all this, but clearly you have not, so here goes…
i will move on when vick is actually charged with animal cruelty and dog fighting as he was not, which means he would be in jail for at least 65 years, when he actually meets with the good people who cleaned up his mess and have taken loving care of the dogs that were his that he abused and tortured, and when he gives at least $50 million to a pit bull shelter/rescue, no kill facility. oh yeah, a REAL apology to the dogs and to their adopters would be good, too. so far all I've heard him say is that he is sorry he got caught and he wishes his sentence was shorter and that he does not care about the dogs.
I also agree with this guy… who outlines the case and talks about the corrupt prosecutor in the Vick case and compares the evidence in the Anthony case (non-existent) and in the Vick case (overwhelming)…
