cartoonI’m sure most of us have experienced a time when as a student you have some work to hand in and either forgot all about it, or just didn’t find time to complete it. You are then faced with a dilemma – admit you haven’t done the work or come up with some excuse to get some extra time to do it.

With the growing use of computers in schools the ability to submit work via e-mail or on disk is now commonplace and therefore the ways to get your time extended on course work is growing. The latest comes from websites like Corrupted-Files.com.

The thinking behind using corrupted files is as follows. You want to hand in your work on time, but haven’t actually completed it. So you download a file that is about the right size and page length, but that is corrupted and therefore unreadable. The person marking the work may take several hours or days to check that file before the expected e-mail asking for another copy. In that time you can complete the work and resubmit straight away as if nothing was ever done late.
