Six time NBA champion. Seven time All-Star. Olympic gold medalist. Scottie Pippen is one of the most famous NBA players of all time. COED recently sat down with the international basketball legend as he tries his hand in something a little different… movies.
COED: How did you get involved in the film Mascots vs. Midgets?
Pippen: My marketing guy sort of tricked me into it. They told me to improv, and they told me kind of what was going to happen, but not everything. I had lines I was supposed to say when it made sense, but then it got crazy. You know, I did not really know the midget team was really going to attack me. I’ll never be able to get that out of my head. I wanted to quit when they handed me the costume. But it was fun, you know, just to have my whole family in a movie…go through the experience.
Do you see anymore movies in your future?
I want to do more acting. I’ve done some TV shows… I’m told I would make a good bad guy cause of my voice and my height. Tell someone to hook me up!
Gary Coleman was in the movie. How was that?
Gary is a “Midgets vs. Mascots” hater now that he got paid. Surprise. I always hear Gary Coleman is a really angry dude, so he probably is angry about everything in life, and the movie is just one more thing. I think Gary is funny, still funny. He should chill.
And there were lots of midgets in the movie. How was it working with people who probably don’t hit your waist line? (Editors note: In the film, Pippen is tricked into doing a scene he thinks is legit, and later he gets attacked by a group of midgets).
Dwarfs don’t like being called midgets. I did not know that. I don’t get it. Is “little people” better? Somebody should tell Barkley, he says midget all the time on TNT. It’s crazy they are saying the midget word is like the n word. But I’m not going to mess with them; I don’t need to get in another midget –uh little person fight.
You are definitely a long shot to ever win an academy award, but you have thrived in this position before. Tell us about your path to the NBA.
I was only about 6 foot in high school, and I didn’t have a scholarship to college. University of Central Arkansas knew I could play. So they were cool and tried to help me out. I walked on, and freshman year didn’t think the NBA was a viable option.
Did you have a typical college experience? Did you have a favorite bar in Conway, Arkansas?
I think so. I lived in dorms during the year. An apartment during the summer. Conway is dry country, so nothing for favorite bar.
If you could take the floor with four other guys in their prime, who would they be?
Shaq, LeBron, Larry Bird and Magic. There are a bunch of guys though, I won’t name them all.
Who is the toughest person you ever had to defend?
MJ… everyday
Who defended you the toughest in your career?
Maybe Rodman
What is the best team you ever saw play?
The 1992 USA Olympic team. Dream Team.
In your very impressive career, what achievement are you most proud of?
I don’t think about that much…probably the six championships.
Ok, now we are going to dive into some rapid fire questions… Who would win in a fight, Dennis Rodman or Charles Oakley?
Oh, Oakley
Steve Kerr or John Paxton?
Paxton. Little more of a temper
Luc Longley or Bill Wennington?
I’d have to flip a coin and hope it does not come down…that’s a pillow fight.
If we were to take the 1997 version of you, Jordan, and Rodman, and have you play a 3 on 3 game with the 2002 version of Shaq, Kobe, and Harper, who would win?
The group with the most championship rings
The 1997 Pippen, Jordan, Rodman vs. 2009 KG, Pierce, Ray Allen?
Oh, please
Ok, mixing it up a bit… you, Jordan and Rodman TODAY vs. Greg Ostertag, Tom Gugliota and Lisa Leslie in their prime?
(laughs) Who are those guys?
Who is the last person in the NBA you would want to get into a fist fight with?
Probably Shaq
Last person you’d want to face in a game of H.O.R.S.E?
Ray Allen
Sit across from in a poker game?
MJ
Who will end up with more rings: LeBron, D Wade, Dwight Howard, or Chris Paul?
LeBron. He has the ability to carry a team the most.

Congrats to Pippen for his most recent challenge,he knows who the best player of All times is the one with the most rings! his play was raised to accomplish the best basketball of the 90s.Lebron,Kobe,Shaq will NEVER MEASURE up to the consistent play of Mike and Scottie, every night giving it their ALL and winning. These NEW JACKS don’t have a clue how to win and as long as they run away from the challenge they will be sitting at home, with dreams of the rings!
To: Joe West
Umm Kobe and Shaq already have rings!
4 for Shaq and Kobe has 3 working on his 4th.
And no,no one is MJ just like no one will ever be Magic.
Lebron has his work cut out for him but he can do it.
Better question would have been 90’s Bulls Vs 80’s Lakers, Who wins?
