Nationals Will Pick San Diego State Star First In June MLB Draft
May 5, 2009 Posted in College, Collegiate, Sports

Back in March we told you about San Diego State pitching star Stephen Strasburg, a player some scouts are calling the greatest college baseball prospect ever.
It might be a load of hype but his 2009 statistics speak for themselves. Although they don’t compare to what Zack Greinke is doing for the Kansas City Royals, to date, Strasburg is putting up video game-esque numbers, which show that he is the most dominant pitching prospect in a long time.
The Washington Nationals are primed to select San Diego State star pitcher Stephen Strasburg with the No. 1 overall pick in next month’s draft, sources said. The Nationals will not be scared off by the high price tag expected to be set by the right hander Strasburg, which is believed to be $50 million-plus.
