I really enjoyed reading the- Why Should I Care? Section about the Civil War. History has never been a favorite subject of mine and I tend to limit my exposure to it. This information brought a new light to the subject however and made me realize the importance of history in the lives of Americans. The Civil War, along with all the other historical events of the past have impacted our lives whether we realize it or not. I think sometimes we all take our freedom and the historical background/events that have occured for granted or simply overlook how great they impact the lives we live today. America is what it is because of what has happened in history and it is good to learn and educate ourselves. History can be more interesting when you relate to your own life and its effect on you!

I consider myself well educated on sports, but I had NO idea Jackie Robinson was a NFL prospect until racial bias kept him out of the draft. However their content is aggregated, this site is good.

I love shmoop! I found it researching for Scarlet Letter summaries, and have been using (and recommending) it ever since!

Originally, I went to Shmoop to see what they had on Poe's Anabel Lee. It's not one of the selected poems (hint, hint) but All Along the Watchtower by Bob Dylan caught my eye. My questions concerning the song were answered (as it is a song, not a poem, even though, personally i think music should be considered poetry to an extent…I digress). The wording is fun and readable, which is especially helpful when essay writing time comes.

Excellent set of quotes, as are all the Animal Farm ones. Very helpful.

    I love this one:

"And remember, comrades, your resolution must never falter. No argument must lead you astray. Never listen when they tell you that Man and the animals have a common interest, that the prosperity of the one is the prosperity of the others. It is all lies. Man serves the interests of no creature except himself. And among us animals let there be perfect unity, perfect comradeship in the struggle. All men are enemies. All animals are comrades."
