Get Published With Shortcovers eBooks

Want to get in on the eBook action, but don’t have $360 to drop on a Kindle 2? Then definitely check out Shortcovers. Unlike Amazon’s nifty but way overpriced electronic book reader, Shortcovers focuses primarily on the mobile market, capable of delivering hundreds of thousands of titles straight to your mobile phone.
There are, of course, free iPhone, Blackberry and Google Android apps. But soon, Shortcovers will allow you to download titles to any Windows Mobile and Symbian-operated phones, as well as other eReader devices, netbooks and other smartphones. And also unlike the Kindle 2 (or even the Kindle app), Shortcovers gives you the ability to download books, and soon, magazines, newspapers, text books and other publications straight from your mobile device, instead of having to go to the Website to access their library. (Downloads from the Website are also available.)
On top of that, Shortcovers utilizes your cell’s GPS to let you discover what people are reading in your area, or to give suggestions for books you might want to buy while in a certain area, like tourist books and restaurants guides.
But what really sold me on Shortcovers was the “Create” feature, which allows any Shortcovers user to upload their own content to make available for download by anyone with a Shortcovers account. That means, you can get that novel of yours published without having to go through a book publisher first. (It also means there’s going to be a lot of crappy novels on Shortcovers, but so what?) After uploading, you can make your works available for free or whatever price you deem reasonable for the title. So get your romantic-comedy sci-fi zombie epic up on Shortcovers now and see what happens.
