Which Books and Music Make You Dumb?
March 2, 2009 by COED Staff
Thanks 25-year-old Caltech graduate student Virgil Griffith for proving that I, as a Counting Crows fan, am a smart motherf**ker!
Griffith devised a way to “aggregate Facebook data about the favorite bands and books among students of various colleges and plotted them against the average SAT scores at those schools, creating a tongue-in-cheek statistical look at taste and intelligence.”
For those of you who enjoy Beethoven your average SAT score is 1371. Griffith also proves that fans of Sufjan Stevens (1260), Counting Crows (1247), and Radiohead (1220) have high SAT stats, too. Sucks to be a Lil’ Wayne fan, as his music is associated with the dumbest people.
