6 Things I Learned About Being a Swinger

Swingers are groups of people who engage in sex with others outside their own relationships. A swinging couple will swap partners with other couples for their sexual enjoyment. In the 1970s, this practice was often referred to as “wife swapping.”

I have gone undercover into the world of swingers. Here are 6 things I learned about the swinger lifestyle.

1. There is only one type of swinger party. FALSE!

There are many different type of swinger parties as there are swingers; young, old, old and young, etc. One such swinger party I encounter was called, “The Multi-Male/Single Female experience. This is for the ladies who like to get it on with a long line of men who will most likely be high-fiving.

2. All swingers are glamorous, exciting people. FALSE!

At the swinger parties I encountered, it seemed like a very average, normal, if not dull demographic of people, whose lives are made exciting each month by attending swinger parties. For some reason, there were a high number of teachers and educators.

3. Food is served at swinger parties. TRUE!

Usually the price of the swinger party also includes a food spread; mostly finger food. Think twice about hygiene when you dip your hand into the bowl of chips or reach for a peel-and-eat shrimp.

4. At swinger parties, sex goes on in every room in the house. FALSE!

The living room and kitchen are used for socializing. Different parts of the house are designated for sex areas; from the couples’ room to the group sex room, where observers can watch with expressions on their face like they just witnessed a car accident.

5. There are no rules at swinger parties. FALSE!

Instigating “play” as to be mutual. Also, if there’s a Jacuzzi, remember, don’t “finish” in the Jacuzzi!

6. Swingers come in all shapes and sizes. TRUE!

You might encounter woman so obese that you could lose yourself in their rolls of fat, or swingers so old it might give you an idea of what it would be like to watch your parents have sex.
