Jizzing In Our Pants Over Andy Samberg & The Lonely Island’s New Album

It’s hard to believe that just over three years ago most of us had written Saturday Night Live off as irrelevant. This usually happens about once every ten years or so, but it seemed for real this time. Will Ferrel left to become a movie star, and most of the other reliable cast members like Molly Shannon, Tracy Morgan, Chris Kattan, etc. had moved on as well.

Jimmy Fallon, who is a hack, had swept through the halls of Rockefeller Center like an unfunny virus, leaving in his wake a legacy of ruining every sketch he was ever in, and a bunch of seemingly mediocre nobodies to fill the void. Ratings were horrible, rumors of cancellation were swirling, and things were looking very bleak for the once groundbreaking show. But then something incredible happened — something put SNL back on the map and also introduced us to an exciting new brand of sketch comedy — Lazy Sunday aired.

‘Lazy Sunday’, which has gone on to become the stuff of legends, was, to put it mildly, f*cking hilarious. A simple concept — two guys angry rapping about going to see The Chronicles of Narnia — turned into pure comedy gold. It went on to become a viral mega-hit on the internet, made SNL relevant again overnight, and most importantly, introduced the world to a new force in the world of comedy: The Lonely Island.

You may not have heard of The Lonely Island yet, but you are definitely familiar with their work. The team, which consists of Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone and the most prominent member, Andy Samberg, have been making funny things together since 2001. Not only are they responsible for ‘Lazy Sunday’, but they are the geniuses behind the severely underrated Hot Rod, and also every SNL Digital Short ever aired, including D*ck in a Box, Roy Rules!, Iran So Far, Natalie Raps, and most recently, Jizz in my Pants. They are the reason that SNL is watchable again, and for that we are forever in their debt.

Now that they’ve gained way more than a cult following on and off the internet, the trio is capitalizing on their success and releasing an album of comedic songs. Seeing as how almost all of their most popular and best Digital Shorts are songs, this makes a ton of sense. The album, which they’ve named ‘Incredibad’, is coming out on February 10th, features a bunch of new songs including future classic We Like Sportz, guest spots from the likes of T-Pain, Jack Black, Julian Casablancas and Norah Jones, and also includes all of the classic Lonely Island classics that we’ve been jizzing in our pants about (sorry) for the past three years. If you enjoy laughing, you’ll be listening to it.

Sometimes You Gotta Say “It Just Doesn’t Matter” [VIDEO]

Today’s lesson kids comes from one of greatest teen-coming-of-age comedies of all time. No, I’m not talking about ‘Bring it On’ or ‘Mean Girls’, but rather the 1979 classic ‘Meatballs‘ starring Bill Murray. When life throws you a curve ball, you either give it a whack or watch it pass by. But hit or miss, sometimes you gotta say “It Just Doesn’t Matter”.
