Mythical 14-Minute Beatles Song Does Exist

Sir Paul McCartney has admitted that the 14-minute experimental Beatles song long thought to be a myth is real. Recorded in 1967, Carnival of Light was dubbed too “adventurous” to release to the public. But as McCartney told BBC Radio 4’s “Front Row,” “The time has come for it to get its moment.”

Despite the fact that McCartney has a master copy of the recording, for which he instructed the other Beatles to “just wander around all the stuff, bang it, shout, play it, it doesn’t need to make any sense,” he has to have the agreement of Ringo Starr and John Lennon and George Harrison’s estates for the track to hit the public ear.

Thing is, I’m not so sure a 14 minute drug-fueled jam session with no beat is going to sound good just because the Beatles did it – especially if it took them 41 years worth of getting used to the song to not want to keep it a secret anymore. I hope they prove me wrong, but I have a feeling this one should’ve stayed a myth.

I wish Sir. McCartney gets the blessing from the three without a problem, so that the the world can hear this piece. It makes me soooooo happy to hear that there’s still music from The Beatles out there! I still listen to their music and I will never get tired of listening.
