Cheerleaders of the CFL

There’s no question the NFL usually kicks the crap out of Canada’s CFL. With only eight teams in the entire league, it’s just not a fair fight. But regardless of their shortcomings, our pig skin-loving brothers to the North still know how to pick their cheerleaders. From the Montreal Alouettes to the BC Felions, these spirit-filled hotties can really warm up a crowd. And with the Conference Semifinals having wrapped-up this past weekend, the Conference Finals this coming weekend and the Grey Cup (their Super Bowl) at the end of the month, it’s time you got familiar with the Cheerleaders of the CFL. Anything less just wouldn’t be neighborly. We don’t want that, now do we?

I appreciate the props. As a canadian and a CFL fan, any press is good press. However, to help educate you (rather than correct) our balls are made out of cowhide, not pigskin…and they’re bigger…much BIGGER!!

Thanks Steve, but we have to throw some schoolin’ back your way. As far as we know all footballs (US & Canadian) are made from cowhide. They haven’t been covered with pigskin for quite some time, but the term is still interchangeable with football.

Ya, Dylan is right, its the B.C. Lions not felions, and Gullible is actually spelled “Gulable”…

Re: simunn – the cheerleaders are known as the felions, the team is the lions. However u are correct about the spelling of gulable.

Since we’re all up on the correcting, you should probably say that the Super Bowl is America’s Grey Cup, since the NFL has only had forty-something Bowls, and Canadian football teams have been playing for the Cup since 1909.

At one point my roommate was an Argo cheerleader – what a waste of oxygen…..she would lock herself IN the apartment accidently and call us to come and let her out….
