Twelve Years ago, Joe Torre became the manager of the New York Yankees and guided them to the pinnacle of the baseball world in only his first season at the helm. When Charlie Hayes made the final out in Game 6 of the 1996 World Series, the Yankees won the world championship for the first time in 18 years.
This season he left the throne of New York to seek out another opportunity to prove his managerial superiority of this game. He became manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers and has led them back into the postseason for the first time since 2004. Despite being down two-games to none to the Phillies in the NLCS, Joe Torre has what it takes to lead his squad into the next and final round.
If he can rally his troops and get the Dodgers back to the Series for the first time in 20 years, he has the chance to once again manage a historic franchise to a World Series title in his first season as manager. He’s already done it once in his last stop of his long and storied career. Can he do it again?
