Michael Phelps: The King of Facebook

Michael Phelps is the king of the Olympics and now he is the newly crowned king of Facebook.

While you and I might get 2-3 friend requests a week, Phelps, who now has some free time on his hands, recently logged-on to “the book” and had over 7,600 requests. What’s more impressive is his fan page following.

An August 18th article said his Facebook fan page has 859,387 followers. Now, four days later, Michael Phelps’ Facebook Fan page has ballooned to over 1,322,777 followers (in the 15 seconds it took to write that last sentence and hit refresh the number jumped to 1,322,909 – a staggering jump of 133 members).

Phelps-mania will surely begin to subside, but for the time being he is The King of Facebook.
