Spanish Olympic Basketball Team to World: We Chinese, We Play Joke…

And next they will probably try to pee in your coke. In a decidedly uncool move, the defending Olympic Men’s B-Ball champs, Spain, has chosen racism as there method for making a funny. Apparently, the Spanish Basketball Federation had the team pose for a group photo, which would be used as a good luck advertisement to be posted in different publications, while pulling their eyes into slits, to look Chinese.

Spain’s Basketball Federation has published a good luck advert for their men’s team, the world champions, in which they stand pulling at the sides of their eyes in a slit-eyed gesture.

There is no obvious intention to upset their Olympic hosts in Beijing, but the irresponsible picture is likely to cause controversy and could be interpreted so as to lead to accusations of racism. (The Guardian)

I’m not sure what the f**k The Guardian is talking about with ‘no obvious intention to upset their hosts,’ I mean damn, what would these guys have to do to make the U.K site say they are racist? Sing the ‘We are Siamese’ song from Lady and the Tramp while dominating the paint? Or running to the sidelines to eat an celebratory egg roll every time they dunk?

That’s kinda f’d up, Spain.
