NYC Cop Bashes Biker To The Ground

July 29, 2008 by COED Staff

This past weekend, a cop slamed a dude off his bike in the middle of Times Square–for no reason. The biker is a member of Critical Mass, a group that rides their bikes each month to promote bicyclists’ rights. After he was knocked down, he was arrested. But he’s the one that got hit. And some still wonder why people don’t like cops…

The guy obviously did something out of picture to deserve a side check by the cop

ALL Cyclists should be treated in this manner. Roads are for vehicles with MOTORS! And more cops have my respect everyday for doing what needs done to make an arrest, cuz no matter what the crime our liberal judges and lawyers will have the criminal back on our streets in no time.

WE SHOULD BAN MIDGETS FROM SIDEWALKS! Sidewalks are for people over 4′5″. Carnies who operate the “you must be this tall” thing have my respect, cuz no matter how close disproportionate heads are to my crotch, liberals demand that we treat them as people.

the ‘official’ story was the guy blew a light and was swerving in and out of traffic (not legal in New York) and that they told him to stop.
The video is too tough to tell what that guy did before he comes into frame, but I can’t hear anyone saying ’stop’ or ‘pullover’ or anything like this.

Looks like a case of this group getting on the nerves of the cops before and this one cop overreating.

@coachk08: actually, the streets are where bikes are supposed to be. In most municipalities it’s actually illegal to ride them on the sidewalk though most cops give them a pass on that.

I’m glad he knocked the hell out of this asshole. Bikers spend way to much time playing in the streets. Pretending to be cars . . . Stupid

    @ Joshua Baker,

If that is true, why did the cop feel the need to lie on the police report? If the cop was in the right, then why not just say so? He (the cop) said the cyclist steered the bike into him. That is clearly not true. So, we have documented proof that the cop lied.

If the cop felt the need to lie, it was obviously because he had done something wrong and was counting on having no witnesses, at least none that he could intimidate into backing up his story. Problem was, there is video proving he is a liar.
