Pap-Smear: Surfers vs. Paparazzi

Until now, paparazzi wrecks, bashes and run-ins have been between the photographers and the celebrities they so tenaciously chase. But this time, they set up their lenses on the wrong beach.

While trying to catch shots of Mathew McConaughey riding waves in Malibu, California, 12 paparazzi were confronted by a gang of pissed-off, territorial surfers, and TMZ.com has the whole thing on tape.

Basically, the gang confronts them, the photographers call the cops, protest that the beach is public and then start running away. One of the Pap starts threatening the dudes with a mono-pod camera stand, and then it goes as badly as you hope it does.

Check out the video at TMZ here!

the surf gangs (that's what they are no need to italicize) are no joke in California or Hawaii. If you are on their beach you better have a REAL good reason to be there. I mean a REALLLY good reason or else you are gonna loose blood, teeth or worse.

The whole surf gang thing seems to strang to an outsider. I guess that most people who arent familiar with surf cultur, like to think that surfers are laid back, pot smoking, all around chill dudes. I'm sure thats what those reporters were thinking too… right before they got kicked in the eye.
