Power Rangers Creator Tries to Bribe Young Democrats for Clinton Super-Del Endorsement
May 20, 2008 Posted in News-ish

Leading-up to the Oregon/Kentucky primaries* the HuffingtonPost.com reports that a supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, Haim Saban, offered $1 million to the Young Democrats of America, while attempting to convince the organization’s two uncommitted superdelegates to back his choice.
From the article:
Haim Saban, the billionaire entertainment magnate and longtime Clinton supporter, denied theallegation. But four independent sources said that just before the North Carolina and Indiana primaries, Saban called YDA President David Hardt and offered what was perceived as a lucrative proposal: $1 million would be made available for the group if Hardt and the organization’s other uncommitted superdelegate backed Clinton.
And by “billionaire entertainment magnate,” they mean the creator adaptor of The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, as well as VR Troopers, Masked Rider and Big Bad Beetleborgs–Japanese knock-offs, the lot.
Maybe Saban should have thrown in a night with the pink Ranger; that might have done it. But I think threatening to give him the red Ranger’s haircut would have sealed the deal.
*TODAY are the Oregon and Kentucky primaries. Go Vote!!
