‘D.C. Madam’ Suicide? Yeah, Not So Much

If you’ve been paying attention at all, you know that Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the ‘D.C. Madam,’ was found dead yesterday in a shack behind her mother’s home, just north of Tampa, Florida. Everyone’s (suspiciously) reporting suicide.

As NYTimes.com reports:

A woman convicted two weeks ago of running a Washington call-girl ring that catered to the capital’s power elite was found dead here Thursday, and the authorities said she had apparently hanged herself.

She left notes, they say. Unfortunately for them, suicide wasn’t her likely cause of death. According to PrisonPlanet.com, Palfrey claimed, on numerous occasions, that she though she would be “suicided.” Turns out, her claims were right.

“If taken into custody, my physical safety and most probably my very life would be jeopardized,” she wrote in August 1991 following an attempt to bring her to trial, “Rape, beating, maiming, disfigurement and more than likely murder disguised in the form of just another jailhouse accident or suicide would await me,” said Palfrey in a handwritten letter to the judge accusing the San Diego police vice squad of having a vendetta against her.

During several recent appearances on The Alex Jones Show, Palfrey also said that she was at risk of being killed and that authorities would make it look like suicide. She made it clear that she was not suicidal and if she was found dead it would be murder.

With all discreetly eyes on Washington, we may be looking at a good, old-fashioned hit! These are the stories from which blockbusters are born. High-priced hookers, and a black-book packing madam. Back-room deals, with shady-looking men planning shady-looking deeds. Washington power-brokers cleansing their hands in blood. And a self-seeing profit foretelling her now-cold death.

I wonder, if in the end of this movie, they’ll round-up all the bad guys, and lock them away, somewhere dark, like a shed.
