Austrian Man Imprisions Daughter for 24 Years in Basement Dungeon

Adding another notch into my better-off-dead category, Reuters.com reports that a 73-year-old Austrian man held his daughter captive in a “windowless cell” for 24-years–and fathered seven children from with her during her captivity.

The case, centered on a nondescript two-storey building in the small industrial town of Amstetten, bears chilling similarities to that of Austrian Natascha Kampusch who spent eight years locked up in a basement before escaping in 2006.

Some parts of the cell in which the family were kept were no more than 1.70 meters (5 ft 6 in) high and officials said the basement even contained a padded cell…

Elisabeth Fritzl, 42, says her father, Josef Fritzl, lured her into the basement of the block in 1984 and drugged and handcuffed her before imprisoning her.

Three of her children, aged 19, 18 and 5, had been locked up in the basement with her since birth and had never seen sunlight, police said, raising worries about their physical and mental state. The younger two were boys, the eldest a girl.

Worries about their mental state? Um, I hate to tell you, but those kids are going to be f*cked-up. This pathetic excuse for a man has just contributed to the rising pool of “humanity sucks” that seems so prevalent these days. Why can’t he be the one to get hit by a bus, or catch(?) SIDS or something. Damn.

This guy’s biggest problem is that he didn’t share. It is common knowledge that in Austria it is perfectly normal and acceptable to keep your first born daughter in a basement, under lock and key, and to have hot incestuous sex with her. Practically everyone does it. Mr. Fritzl’s problem is that he din’t make the requisite neighborhood tapes to share with the community. You see in Austria they are in to two things. Incest and community values. When you make the hot sex tape with your own young you are then deliver it to the city council where the tapes are then shown every other Friday on the wall out side of the armory, (popcorn and beer are served, it really is a great time). Mr Fritzl got greedy, he was so into his daughter that he wanted to share the tapes with nobody. Natually in a tight knit community such as this one word eventually got out, his neighbors got upset, and here we are. If there are any lessons to be learned here I think that the main one would be that extreme greed will almost always lead to your downfall. If you have hot incest tapes then you should share them with the world.

I agree, the wife should be locked up too. Anyone as stupid as her to not notice her husband gone for hours on day in the basement should know something is up. For her not to have visited the basement at least once in 24 years is the most absurd thing I have heard of.

did he jus wake up one day and say “ya knw wat, am bored, i knw lets lock my daughter in the cellar and av mad sex with her am have kids.” as if!
and how thick is they wife!
did she not notice her daughter had jus dissapeared and no1 was worried. y did the rest of the family not notice or ask any questions about where she had gone?
did the wife not notice all the food goin missin or wonder y her husband spent so much time down there. did he tell her he was building a train set or sumfink lyk tht. and as if she hasn’t been in the cellar for 24 years. shes as crazy as him
i jus feel sorry for the daughter and all her kids. there all gunna av stuff wrong wiv em nd there all gunna b dead fukd up for rest of their lives. ne1 else agree?
