Northeastern American Apparel Model Strikes Again

Remember last fall when we dug up the waif-ish American Apparel photos of this Northeastern drop out? Looks like the official shots have finally hit the website and well, yeah, they’re just as cheesy as you’d expect.

Hit up this American Apparel link and scroll down to “Lea in Paris” (not her real name) and LOL it up. If only she was still on campus… [CollegeOTR]

Iowa’s No. 1 Running Back Pugh Leaves Team

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz announced Wednesday that running back Jevon Pugh has decided to leave the program.

Listed as Iowa’s No. 1 running back on last week’s inaugural spring two-deeps, the sophomore-to-be from Naples, Fla., had been dealing with homesickness and told Ferentz of his decision over spring break.

“Jevon has struggled with being away from home since he arrived,” Ferentz said in a release. “… We were sorry to learn of Jevon’s decision, but I understand his feelings and wish him success in the future.” [Daily Iowan]

Cocktails, Dressy Attire Mark Classy Social Event at Duke

Approximately 1,000 Duke undergraduates, graduate students and faculty members filled the Doris Duke Center and Sarah P. Duke Gardens Wednesday to celebrate a beautiful spring night and the imminent end of the school year at the second-annual Duke Royale.

Students left their usual day attire in their dorm rooms and donned elegant suits and cocktail dresses for the Duke University Union-sponsored event that brought students and faculty together for a classy night complete with finger foods, cocktails, vine-draped walls, live jazz and even a Harry-Potter-esque magician. UT Students Develop Ticket Software

Advanced and innovative software designed by UT graduate students Barry Kahn, Andrew Mills and Jiten Dalvi could revolutionize the way people buy and sell entertainment tickets.

Their fledgling company Qcue will face off against other entrepreneurial teams from around the world this weekend in the Rice Business Plan Competition at Rice University.

In one year, the team has developed a program that will create an efficient resale market that box offices can control for entertainment tickets. Instead of buying tickets from second-party distributors like eBay, the team’s software allows the original box office to mediate the resale process. [Daily Texan]
