While male teachers are (rightfully) lambasted for their sexual misconduct, women seem to get off much easier – literally and figuratively. And why, you ask? There may not be physical coercion going on here, but there are plenty of opportunities for manipulation, power plays, guilt trips, and other “mind games” that adults tend to have better grasp on than naive kids/teens.
And our culture perpetuates the idea of males being macho, having lots of sex, and being “players.” On the outside, teen boys have to act hypersexual but on the inside, they can be traumatized like anyone else. I’ll bet a lot of them secretly regret it.

Nothing wrong with double-standards… Men and women are different creatures with different outlooks on sex at this age. Men are creeping up on their sexual peak at 14 or up. They want sex, and it doesn’t matter who or how old as long as it looks good. Until a woman is 25 or so, technically, she’s much more likely to be ‘preyed upon’ by an older man. I can see why some of these women have been charged. When the kid is 13 years old and the woman is 30, something is a bit off. The kids aren’t gonna want to be with someone their own age from then on. However, the women who were with kids 15, 16 plus, I don’t see the problem. Also, lets all be honest. A boy who’s having sex with an older lady is gonna be proud, and is probably going to see nothing more than sex. First of all, it is a double standard. Before anyone gets up in arms, I just want to point out a few things: an 18 year old high school senior sleeping with a sixteen your old sophmore would be guilty of stat rape in most states, I know from experience it is in my state, punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Even then they have to document any contact with any minor, again, any minor, they see a minor while they are at the store, they have to document it. They want to go to church, they have to arrange special service for adults only. Then of course there is the rediculous cost. Pyscho sexual evaluations, upwards of 800 dollars, weekly group therapy 100 a week, registration as a sex offender, depnding on your state, 30 to 300 dollars, cost of suppervision, 200 a month, so on and so on. all this while having to take polygraphs to tell if you have reported every contact with a minor or with anything that aroused you in any way, and if you have told the truth about how much, if any, masturbating you have done. I’ve actually known men and women who opt to stay in prison instead of going through all of this. So they are not actually getting off that easy.

The teacher would probably be subject to job loss and subsequent license removal as it opens up too many issues of other possible indiscretions (favoritism for grades, etc.).

Before judging these and other offenders, perhaps it’s a good idea to define rape, minors and what is a ’sexual offense’.
Personally, I define rape as something where force or the threat of force are used to get a person to perform sex.
I don’t think that happened with any of these cases. Neither does it apply for a lot of male teachers.

Here’s how I see this issue. I graduated high school in 1981 and there were few hot teachers in my school. Yep, I guarantee you all these kids don’t mind it, and we take a laid back attitude towards this accounts of “lewd” behavior , but most kids that age do fantasize about their hot teachers, and yes many look like ones above. Now, if these were men and the victims were minor girls, then we’d all be flipping out, and with good reason!!! But yeah, these kids don’t mind it, by 16-18 years of age many of these kids are already engaging in sexual activities anyway, and tend to make their own mind about just about anything. Of course, this does not make it right.

In Amy Mc’s case the guy was 18 yrs old. What is the states age of consent? And anyway he could of said “No” he was after all 18 and had the right to drive a car, smoke and be drafted into the Army. So why is he not being charged with bringing the school into disrepute or something? Just a thought.
P.S. Hope in this case justice will be merciful.

Wrote two full paragraphs and deleted them. In a nutshell, these women have done no harm to their young men and they (the teachers) have become “teachers” in another, more beautiful way.
Wish I’d had teachers of their caliber. I might have settled down much earlier.

Don’t forget that the limit at 18 is just made up. Lots of countries have lower. Here where I live you are considered smart enough the choose who to have sex with when you’re 15. And sex with a student isn’t illegal but would probably get the teacher fired.

Normally all school children will lust after some of their teachers its the beginning of sexuality.. i don’t know what to say about those that are from 16 – 18 and worst for that one student the teacher marries. Its wrong man in my views wot go at the age of 13 and 14 still .. but some charges should be held against some off these students who actively seek teachers and get them.. some are smart ass hell.. and most of the blondes there ARE BLONDES..LOL..
