COED’s Foo Fighters Road Trip: Binghamton University, New York
February 25, 2008 Posted in Entertainment, Music
On Friday COED took a road trip to Binghamton University in lovely upstate New York to check out the Foo Fighters’ concert at Binghamton U’s on-campus event center.
Seven-thousand Foo fans packed the Events Center at Binghamton University Friday night after waiting so (Ever)long for the Foo Fighters sold-out show.

The event marked the first time the Foos traveled to the Binghamton area and it was for that reason the show seemed like a time warp to the late 90s. Dave Grohl and company rocked to past hits such as “Learn to Fly,” “Breakout,” and “My Hero” dominating the night. The Foo’s didn’t mire in the past for long, though, with new songs such as “The Pretender” and “But, Honestly” from their Grammy-award winning album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace bringing the show back to the present.
“Times Like These (One-Way Motorway)” kicked off the event in fine fashion, with Dave Grohl’s wise-cracking antics keeping the vibe loose and energetic – just like college kids the nation over demand their rock shows. Between scorching solos that varied from guitar to the triangle, a fan favorite, the Foo Fighters delivered on various levels, all of which were unexpected.
“Monkey Wrench” was supposed to close the show but causing a foot stomping demand for an encore. After 10 long minutes that included crowd disappointments on the sound quality and stage personnel walking on stage-instead of the band, Dave Grohl finally walked up on stage with the rest of the band to help provide closure for the event, performing “All My Life.”
All in all, it was a great night for all things rawk.
