NCAA Basketball Picks Of The Day – Feb. 18, 2008

Basketball picks

In our last pick on February 14th DA Zeus racked up his 2nd loss as Georgia Tech lost to Clemson 82-67. Gebsta dropped to 1-3 when Boston College beat up on N.C. State. Fenboy fell to a dismal 0-4 as Middle Tennessee State beat South Alabama 76-70 and Bone (1-3-1) pushed when West Virginia beat Rutgers by 18 points, 81-63.

The overall total 6-13-1

Let’s hope the guys can pick some winners tonight because this thing is starting to get real ugly.

Bone (1-3-1) from from Lynchburg College

The Pick: Providence Friars +6 vs. Georgetown Hoyas

While I am one of the few people stuck at work on this gorgeous day here in the Garden State, I might as well go ahead and take the early game. So at least for the last hour I am stuck in this 4 X 4 cube I will have something to track. Let’s just get straight to the point here. This is a MUST win game for the Friars. They are really cutting it close and most likely will not make the tourney if they don’t get a big time win. Beating GTown would absolutely qualify as a big time win and if they do happen to beat them SU then I would like to think they would be punching their ticket to the dance come March as well. I think Vegas is really trying to suck people in by only making G-town a 6 pt. favorite so I like my chances.

Gebsta (1-3) from Seton Hall University

The Pick: Syracuse +9.5 at Louisville

As it seems every year, Syracuse is sitting directly on the bubble for a March Madness birth and the Orangemen are looking favorable after a big win against #8 Georgetown on Saturday. Louisville is playing their best ball of the year and I don’t know if Cuse can pull off the upset but I feel they will cover the 9.5 spread.

Fenboy (0-4) from Marist College

The Pick: Marist + 2.5 vs Fairfield

I flat out sucked last week, ill say it right now. This is a new week and i am predicting a turn around. Tonight i will take Marist on the road in Bridgeport, CT. Marist is too good of a team to lose 4 of their last 5 and coach Matt Brady will have them back at the level they were playing before this recent skid. Some may say Fairfield has won 4 straight and are the hottest team in the MAAC right now, but tonight it ends.

Stud to Watch: Senior Sniper Ben Farmer’s ability to get open shots from behind the arc will be the key to the Red Foxes win tonight.
