It has been a tough week of betting for our cappers as the overall record fell to 6-10 and last night was much of the same as they went 2-3.

This is what counts as a challenge these days for top-ranked Memphis: trailing at halftime to a team shooting well, even hitting from way beyond the arc. The Tigers answered with smothering defense and pulled out what passes for a tight victory for this team, tight enough to give DA Zeus (Houston +16) his third win.

For about 35 minutes, No. 17 Connecticut and No. 20 Notre Dame were in a shootout. Then Connecticut turned up the defense, and came away with an 84-78 giving K-Lo (UCONN -5) his first win of the competition.

Bone (San Diego St. +1.5) dropped to 1-3 as New Mexico beat San Diego St. 73-63 in an evenly played match that saw both teams with three players in double digits for scoring.

Syracuse led by one point seven minutes into the game, when South Florida began a 20-1 run to take a 32-14 lead. The game saw Dominique Jones (send him a Facebook Mesage or Poke) score 29 points and Kentrell Gransberry (Send him a Facebook Message or Poke) score 23, as they led South Florida to an 89-78 victory giving Gebsta (Syracuse -4.5) his second crushing loss.

Tyrone Kent scored on a key layup in the last minute and sank two free throws with eight seconds left to give Toledo a 54-52 comeback win over Ohio on Wednesday night. As exciting game but the point total wasn’t enough to cover Fenboy’s (Ohio vs Toledo OVER 119) over.

Check out today’s picks after the jump!

DA Zeus (3-1) from Fairfield University

The Pick: Georgia Tech +9 at Clemson

Georgia Tech comes into this game with a bitter taste in it’s mouth after blowing a 10 point lead in the second half at UCONN unable to cover the +8 point spread. Clemson comes off a double OT loss to a UNC. Both teams have had a couple days off so they should be well rested tonight to put on a good show. GT beat Clemson by 18 points when they met two weeks ago, granted that was at home. With both teams around .500 in conference play, this becomes a big game for the both. In my opinion UCONN is a much bettter team than Clemson, but somehow GT is getting more points on the road IN a conference game. I expect this game to be highly competitve and that usually means 9 points is way too many to be giving a dog in this kind of game. In their last 7 games ATS Georgia Tech is 5-2, while Clemson is 3-4. Expect this game to be back and forth and for GT to play with some heart and to cover the spread. Maybe Vegas proves me wrong tonight, but I doubt it.

Gebsta (1-2) from Seton Hall University

The Pick: NC State +4
vs Boston College

This is the scariest game I’ve picked in 2008 because both teams are so evenly matched but Boston College has lost 6 games in a row and, like Seton Hall, has thrown the towel for the 07-08 season. Walking into BC is a tough task for NC State especially when BC’s Tyrese Rice dropped 28 points on Duke last game but they are on the bubble and this is a must win for NC State to make it into March Madness.

Stud of the Game: Tyrese Rice leads BC is points, steals and assists and recently dropped 28 points on the #2 team in the country. If NC State can shut him down then the game will be lost for BC.

Fenboy (0-3) from Marist College

The Pick: South Alabama – 5.5 vs Middle Tennessee State

Simply put South Alabama is 20-4 headin into tonights contest with MTSU. In the last 10 road games South Alabama is 9-1 ATS and beat Middle Tennessee by 14 last time out. I see Middle Tennessee coming out fired up and keeping this Sun Belt contest staying close till about 5 minutes left in the second half when South Alabama pulls away and wins by about 10 points.

Stud of the Game: With Middle Tennessee State guard Calvin O’Neill out for the season with a knee injury and guard Josh Sain questionable due to suspension, USA guard Demetric Bennett (Send him a Facebook Message or Poke) who is averaging 20 points a game and has scored over 20 in 5 straight is going to have a field day with the less than stellar MTSU defense.

Bone (1-3) from from Lynchburg College

The Pick: Rutgers +18 vs. West Virginia

A wise man told me during a losing streak you might as well flip a coin. So I did.

Unfortunately K-LO is on “lockdown” because his girlfriend has him by the balls and sports comes second to his girlfriend – please tell K-Lo know how gay that is in the comment section. Hopefully he can pull it together tomorrow and send something in.

DA Zeus (3-1)
Gebsta(1-2)
Bone (1-3)
