Statutory Rape, or Stat-Rape for those in the know, is a distressing subject for any parent with a slutty, angsty, d*cktease of a daughter. Lucky for them, ad agency Serve has come to the rescue and served up some good old young awareness for those pondering the act of pedophilia (I know pedophilia is different, but check the ads and tell me they’re not catering to both):

    First off, these ads are disturbing and sick. Secondly, statutory laws are mostly harmful, people seem to think that 18 is some magic age where suddenly people understand everything. So a 17 year old and an 18 year old that are in love and having sex are raping each other, but a 42 year old man with an 18 year old girlfriend is perfectly fine? How does that make any sense at all?

    Most adults don’t have brains either. Sex is physical. Instead of selling fear, just inform. Knowledge is always good. Morality, and especially “hiding behind my finger” morality, is bad.

    the age of consent varies from about 12 to at least 18 depending on where you are in the world.

    i have a hard time saying its wrong to be with a 13 year old hottie if it’s legal and natural attraction, and i’d probably do one of these in the right context.

    i think, for example, in Japan the age of consent is 13…there are places in the US that are 13 or 14 too.

    or maybe you think GOD made a mistake by giving these women attractiveness to some man like me? God doesn’t make mistakes, does he/she/it?

    In america, I would be a rapist.

    I am 18, my gf is 17, she was in my school, we share experiances about maths class, and teachers, we are a normal couple.
    I know her parents, I helped take care of her when she was sick, I’ve met her nazi grandparents.
    I am NOT a rapist, this law is crazy.
    One year ago, under american law, I would not be a rapist, this year, I am. That doesnt make any sense, why should certain laws have a timer on them? Legal during this time period, illegal during this time period, and legal again during this time period. Is this law a bureaucratic joke?

    In my country I am not a rapist, because obviously, I am not.

    (just for the record, she is my first girlfriend, weve been together for 2 years, and we have been having sex for one and a half year)

    um, to all those people who think the law applies to an 18 year old and a 17 year old dating, you’re basically wrong. there’s always loopholes around laws. if you’re together before one of them turns 18, then it’s perfectly legal, and either way, no one is going to automatically know the difference between the 2 ages just looking at the couple. it would probably be thrown out in court just because it’s a year difference, sometimes just a few days, weeks, or months. seriously people use some common sense.
