20 FSU Football Players to be Suspended From the Music City Bowl
December 18, 2007 Posted in Sports
ESPN is reporting that “As many as 20 Florida State football players will be suspended from playing against Kentucky in the Dec. 31 Music City Bowl, as well as the first three games of the 2008 season, for their roles in an alleged cheating scandal involving an Internet-based course, a source with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday morning.”
FSU has not released the names of the student athletes involved, but it will surely damper the teams bowl hopes.
A source close to the situation says, “If the players fight the suspensions, they’ll risk losing all of their eligibility.”
This would not be the first time FSU players have been in trouble for cheating.
In September, two academic assistance employees who worked with FSU student-athletes resigned for giving test answers to 23 athletes.
