I think this happened right about the time I spent 25$ on a CD with 1 good song, and 16 BAD BAD ones.

Or maybe being asked to spend 8 bucks on a CD single because a band isnt talented enough for more than 2 songs and 3 remixes.

Maybe it's because of the hype you talked about..see: Queens of the stone age / Creed / 99.99999% of all hip-hop

Or could it be that ever since Nirvana and Green Day came along, bands know that a good bio, a few tatoos more than make up for musicians that quite frankly SUCK

Did you even use the site for more than 10 seconds? It's nothing like Digg, your spiel on "uploading your favorite tracks" isn't even accurate. It's obvious you spent very little time actually using the site and have carried over a lot of pre-conceived assumptions into this piece. I also love Last.fm, but that doesn't take anything away from t61.
