Because I think women rate you more highly simply because you have the cojones to walk up to them. Only your male friends do.

From her point of view if she's noticed you across the room and likes you, then you're in luck. Otherwise, you're simply wasting her time (and yours). Where I think Ice Brkr scores is that if it does become successful women can use it to shield themselves from unwanted advances. So they'll only need to talk to guys they like – wallflower or not.
