Breaking: Alicia Keys Myspace Page Hacked – Thousands Infected!

Once again MySpace proves why it’s an inferior digital music source.

Artists and user pages throughout the MySpace world have been viciously hacked by a Trojan virus.

Visitors of Alicia Keys MySpace click anywhere on her page and are redirected to “co8vd.cn/s” which asks the user to install video software by clicking “OK.” When the user chooses to install the “video software,” they upload a virus that allows hackers to take over their computer.

“They are going to catch a lot of people with this one,” said Roger Thompson, chief technology officer of Exploit Prevent Labs. “This is a a very rich media page, as are most MySpace pages. There is every expectation you are going to see a video… It’s not at all unreasonable to think you might have to install something.”

Keys is just one of many artists to have their MySpace page attacked, but due to the high volume of traffic to her site there’s a good chance that thousands of users were effected.

This is just another example of why the nickname “MySpam” is becoming more prevalent in the internet community.

First, why the hell can’t Tom control this spam situation? It’s getting out of control and there has to be some kind of solution.

Second, I hold Mark Zuckerburg partly responsible – he has yet to set up a Facebook Music system that could easily consume 100% of the MySpace music traffic and would halt the “MySpamming” of artist profiles in its tracks.

Third, this is NOT Alicia’s fault. Her wild popularity and talent make her a target for these hackers. The problem is now solved and no one should be afraid to visit her MySpace page to sample songs from her newly-released album, As I Am.
