Hehe, I'm the one who taught my boyfriend to shoot, instead of the other way around. We went trap shooting (flying clay targets and shotguns) and had a blast. It was a great bonding experience, and somehow even though it was his first time with a shotgun, he beat my score. gah ;)

The right to "bare" arms – hilarious! Where did you grow up? Somewhere you always had to keep your arms covered at all time under threat of punishment? Strict indeed.

I am guessing you mean the right to "bear" arms, a synonym of _carry_ and not bear as in "grizzly". Although confusingly they are spelled the same way.

Nice article. Too bad the image you chose of Angelina Jolie is infamous for its stupidity — the optics (Leupold CQT) are on backwards. Just a simple mistake by the prop guys, but still kind of funny.

Good on ya for writing this! More women need to get some trigger time and you are helping that happen. However, next time you write about guns you should get a knowledgeable person to proof read it.

"kickback" – I have never heard it called that. I have heard it referred to as "kick" but is correctly called "recoil."

"shot picture" – Again I have never heard this expression before but the correct term is "sight picture" because it is the picture you get when using your sights.

"right to bare arms" – this would mean that we have the right to wear shirts that don't cover our arms. This is true, we do have that right! However, it is the "right to BEAR arms."

Additionally, the breath control (as you described it) is not an accepted technique, although you are correct about its importance.

You were spot on about dumping your "sniper" if he does not support your interest in his hobby. Chances are he is either a jerk or he's full of crap. Either way, dump him.

It is also a good way to get to know your man. Is he humble and patient while he teaches you or is he cocky, impatient or arrogant?
