When She Has No Friends
August 15, 2007 Posted in Sex
At the beginning, you didn’t think it was that odd that your girlfriend didn’t have a posse on Friday nights… after all, you met at the beginning of freshman year. But it’s been a few weeks, and you’ve got your boys but her girls seem to be… non-existent. Have you accidentally found a nerd?
Even if her weekends aren’t filled with tons of plans, don’t be too worried. Think of both the good and bad.
Good: If she likes hanging out by herself, you’ll be in the clear when you want to have a boys’ night or not get out of bed on Sunday unless football is involved.
Bad: She might have trouble getting close to you. Not so bad now, but in a few months, her lack of intimacy won’t help the relationship.
Good: If she gets along with guys better than girls, she’ll probably get along great with your friends.
Bad: Girls who don’t like other girls often have jealous personalities or are just plain mean. She might clash with your girlfriends more than once or hate that you have any at all.
Good: If she spent all her time with boyfriends in the past, she might have lost her friends. Why is this good for you? From the very beginning, you’ve got a loyal girlfriend at your side.
Bad: Loyal might soon equal clingy. You might even start to lose too many of your friends if the two of you spend all your time together.
If this all sounds familiar, try to talk to her as soon as you recognize the problem, help her make new friends, or go on a double date. Don’t just worry or drop her… do something first and see how it works.
