Awkward silences can be very traumatic to a dating experience. It can cause a guy to start reaching into thin air grasping for any sort of topic that will keep the conversation moving along. Here are some tips to avoiding an awkward silence disaster… trust me this list will benefit you in the end.

1) Relax bro!

Cut it with putting a world of pressure on yourself. You don’t need to do all the talking and remember.. girls enjoy talking anyway. Trying to hard will make you nervous which will lead to unclear thoughts and stuttering. There is no requirement to woo this girl with your conversational mastery you just want to see if there is a connection that will lead to more dates.

2) Ask probing questions.

To have a great conversation you need to find things that you have in common with each other. This can be done by asking general probing questions like How was your day? What is your favorite class? What did you do last weekend? Chat it up over each question and if one doesn’t reveal any common interests move onto to the next. Once you find a common interest from your probe of general questions the transition into a solid conversation shouldn’t be hard at all.

3) Don’t be afraid.

When going on a date you should be a little nervous.. that is completely normal but don’t let the fear of saying something stupid freeze you up. Just speak clearly, act like a gentlemen and if you say something she does not completely agree with tell that biatch to go to hell. J/K she is just as afraid of saying something wrong as you are so if you do slip up, give yourself a quick laugh, let it pass and move the convo forward.

4) Prepare.

It is inevitable that there will be short periodical of awkward silences. To cut down on how many times this happens prepare. Make a mental list of 3-5 topics that you can throw out when needed. Take a lesson from tip #2 and ask probing questions then follow accordingly.

Follow these tips and the odds of falling into an awkward silence trip should drastically decrease. I feel the main cause of awkward silence is being nervous so just remember to relax and enjoy yourself.
