Dave Matthews, John Mayer and Others to Put on Free Show at VA. Tech

On September 9th at Virginia Tech’s Lane Stadium the Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Phil Vassar and Nas will put on a free concert for VA. Tech students to remember the 32 lives lost in the April 16th campus shooting.

Tickets are not available to the public but free tickets will be available to students, faculty and staff.

All I can say is bravo to these artists for doing something very nice to a struggling college community. Virginia Tech President Charles Steger agrees saying, “We’re extremely grateful for the compassion and generosity of these artists who wished to create a very special event.”

This will be a great way for students to start off a new school year and work to put the tragedy behind them.
