  • Bill Gates no longer world’s richest man!
    • Overtaken by Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim whose fortune is now at an estimated $67.8bn ( £33.6bn) – equivalent to 8% of Mexico’s gross domestic product – compared with $59.2bn for the Microsoft mogul, putting him in the lead by a decisive $8.6bn.
  • Chris Benoit’s Personal Doctor Faces Federal Drug Charges
    • The personal doctor of a pro wrestler who killed his wife and son before committing suicide was charged Monday with improperly dispensing painkillers and other drugs to other patients. The seven-count indictment said Dr. Phil Astin, physician to wrestler Chris Benoit, dispensed drugs including Percocet, Xanax, Lorcet and Vicoprofen.
  • ‘Single’ euro train fare planned
    • Some of Europe’s biggest train companies are teaming up to compete directly with airlines. Railteam is an alliance of nine high-speed train companies across seven European countries.
  • Postal Worker Steals Thousands Of DVDs from Netflix

    • A federal judge in Houston has ordered a year and a-half in prison for a now-former postal clerk in a DVD-by-mail theft investigation. Authorities accused 53-year-old Anthony Zuniga of Houston of swiping thousands of movies from the mail system. Zuniga was convicted of two counts of mail theft by a postal employee.
